I've found the first 1 hour quiet interesting, thank you ... Dr. Mabuse is quite a character, a master mind ahead of everyone it seems ... we'll see where this goes. Quite excellent cinematically, quite fast-paced for a 1922 silent film... another ambitious project from Fritz !!

dr.mabuse is my favorite villain of all time. you have to see it through 4.5 hour. it so much fun. he was an inspiration for joker in the dark knight (2008). maybe you should watch a nice sequel "testament of dr.mabuse 1931" that better that this film. but i think it hard for beginner movie watcher because you should read about biography of Fritz Lang before he leave Wymar republic or germany in present name and also migrated from hitler (Fritz Lang is jewish) to america.
Instead of adding weird and boring music that has nothing to do with the original movie from 1922, why not dub in voices to the characters instead? It would be a lot better.
best soundtrack version have copyright. that it's mean youtube can strike it down and we can't watch it on online . the only way to watch just a one way "b i t t o r e n t". the movie now become public domain but soundtrack isn't. maybe mute it and open song from metropolis ost to improve the best experience of it.
I hate the music! This has been added many years later by people who had nothing to do with the original from 1922. It ruins the experience because it is so BORING. Why do they think silent movies need this kind of weird, totally irrelevant and unnecessary noise? Better to watch with the sound off instead.

one of my 13 all time favorite films. 4 1/2 hrs and not boring for one minute. Prefer it to even the mighty Metropolis.

The masterpiece. Fritz Lang influences Zatoichi series in which blind man takes control of visual representation.
