finally someone who did a proper audio test where i can see the WAV files... i have the WS-70 and loved it until i noticed the 7db drop and mid cut. I've had to alter settings to get my tone where i want it and i still feel like i'm lacking in GAIN, i've been eye balling this unit for some time now... might grab it on special. :) Great vid dude !
I am currently looking into systems right now, I Play acoustic guitar and lead worship at multiple churches and have been constricted by a cable for too long, so I decided it's time to add this to my Guitar, I have been looking into the line 6 and Carvin but I stumbled upon your video and really like that you have used a line 6 and you are recommending this unit. I like that I don't hear any delay or break up. Thank you for sharing.
I have used the Lekato wireless for a long time. Never had a single problem!! zero interference, great battery life, sounds better than a cable. I've used it in hundreds of live performances 👍
Angus Young says that his guitar sounds better through a wireless because a cable takes away some high frequencies. My Lekato setup has never messed up once, and it is cheap enough if it gets damaged I can replace them
@@davidbolin8195 If Angus is using a Lekato system, it makes sense he thinks a cable removes high frequencies. That's exactly what I hear in this demo! And I agree about the Lekato wireless. Mine is rock solid and ridiculously simple... I'm not missing my Line 6 wireless systems at all.
@@davidbolin8195 Angus uses a very old design wireless bodypack and receiver though. Much more robust than the new dongles offered now, like these Lekatos. You have me curious to look up what his system is, and what frequency it runs on. AC/DC tours worldwide so his system has to ne compliant in every jurisdiction they play in. Even here in the US some older wireless systems like Nady aren't legal anymore.
Thanks for watching, Chris. It really is an impressive little system. Yesterday, I used it in a studio session to record a rhythm guitar, a twin lead and a bass part. The tones were all perfect, and no one missed having a cable running across the floor!
@@RobertCassard thanks for the reply especially because I was wondering how the units did with a bass. I'm curious as well to a keyboard application but I will find out soon because I ordered! Thoroughly enjoy the channel and all your videos. Having been on the road for years myself and recording still, it's nice to find someone who appreciates the small intricacies of so many facets in the music. I always tell my guys in the band that one element can make a song or performance a great thing. Whether it's a lyric or a small effect.
@@chrisspradling3347 Thanks. I'm glad you ordered this wireless set. I used it again today during a rehearsal. We compared cable to wireless and agreed the wireless edged the cable sonically by a little bit. I love this little unit!
I play with a worship team at my church, and also play on the road frequently. At the home church I generally set up 2 to 3 guitars, and at least 2 on the road. Wireless would be convenient if there is no noticeable difference between that and hardwired. The units I have tried so-far lose a very noticeable amount of power and tonal quality. If this system works as well as it seems to in your video, it would be hard to beat for that price!
Congratulations @PastorCTL. You are the winner of my Lekato WS-80 system giveaway. It warms my heart to think of you performing with more freedom, both with your worship team and on the road. I'll contact you directly to find out where to send the unit!
I've tried emailing CallToLifeFWC@gmail.com and I keep getting a message that your mailbox is full. Please reply and tell me how to reach you and where to send your gift!
Hey Robert, to my ear, through decent headphones, the difference is negligible. Having cables is a pain in the rear and I've already shifted to wireless completely. I use the Nu-X system on the same frequency as these, and I get really clean, authentic tone from whichever acoustic guitar I'm playing. Great video, I love what you do, Robert 👍
Thanks for sharing that, Mark. In my experience, being on the 5.8 GHz band is significantly cleaner and more reliable than 2.4 GHz. I’m happy you’re enjoying your wireless freedom!
I got a pair, and they're certainly worth the price. A great little stocking stuffer for any guitarist. I like them for practice and even more when I use them on a tiny guitar like a steinberger. No head to bump into doorways and no wire to trip you up. It's quite liberating.
I’m glad you like yours, too. What a thought: a wireless guitar system so inexpensive, it can be a stocking stuffer. And what a gift… freedom and liberation!
What did I hear? An awesome rendition of "Wicked Game" ! I can't really tell the difference. Maybe live you could tell. I think they would work well in a smaller office/ bedroom / studio where a cord always seems to drag across something at the wrong time. Nice job.
Thanks so much, Dan. As I said, the difference is subtle. I just got done with a band rehearsal and I've decided I actually PREFER the wireless sound to a cable. And as you pointed out, it's just CLEAN to have no cables running across the room!
Glad to hear you’re enjoying them, John! I've been using them both in my studio and on stage. Flawless so far. Come back and tell me how they work for you at a gig.
I have been thinking about purchasing a wireless system for when I record. I have a small room I record in and always cautious not to run over the cable or trip over it. I play strictly acoustic/electric. Just wondering if that works on that?
The only variable for acoustic/electric is where the electronics are placed. I have a guitar with electronics surrounding the jack, and I get signal noise when trying to use it wireless. If the jack is separate from the other pickup electronics, you should be fine. But if you buy the Lekato from Amazon, you can return it if it doesn't work for you. amzn.to/47TEp3J
I’ve had this system for a while. Love how well they work - even on my acoustics. Only drawback: Do not try to set up your system where’s there’s a WIFI router within , say, 10 feet.
Good advice, Dave. My studio space has two wifi routers and one of 'em is only 8 feet from where I use the Lekato during rehearsal. Happy to say, I've heard no interference...at least not yet.
Congratulations @PastorCTL. You are the winner of my Lekato WS-80 system giveaway. It warms my heart to think of you performing with more freedom, both with your worship team and on the road. I'll contact you directly to find out where to send the unit!
I've got several, including Line 6 and Boss, so please don't enter me in the giveaway. However, I appreciate that you're reviewing a cheaper brand with Prime delivery option. My band uses ten pairs of tx/rx on stage in both 2.4 & 5, including our mics, so at times I'm worried that one of these days the venue's WiFi traffic will cause us issues. Still, the lack of cables on the stage has been a true blessing!
@@RobertCassard This past Saturday we tried to run everything wireless. 3 guitars, 2 keyboards, 4 mics, and I had ears for my guitar only. Outdoor festival. Big Fail. Fortunately we brought all the XLR cables and the snake. What we discovered is that the wireless systems decrease fidelity, and signal strength. We had never A/B'd them before. As soon as we were hardwired, we had to bring the gain down on every channel on the mixer. We just don't have the budget for the system that would fix the cross talk issues. Plus the venue had public Wi-Fi, and I'm sure that had something to do with it as well. Our mics are 5Gh, the instruments are 2.4Gh. The lack of cables on the stage was sure nice tho.
@@JonNewquist Thanks for this update, Jon. Not to grill you, but I'm curious what specific brands and models of wireless you guys were using. In my own exploration, I've found that each brand, model - and sometimes even the specific unit - can be radically different in terms of output, noise levels, etc. As an example, I purchased a Lekato WS-80 (2.4 GHz) and it didn't work well for me. I experienced hiss and lower putout level than with a cable, exactly like you describe. But the WS-50 (5.8 GHz) from the same company performs as well (even a little better than) with a cable. Of course, any sonic deficiencies will be magnified as you add multiple wireless units. That's why for me, if a wireless unit doesn't perform PERFECTLY and transparently, I won't use it.
@@RobertCassard Grill away. 😁 I use the Boss WL-20 for my guitars. I don't know what brands our sound guy bought for the other four 1/4" pairs but they are two different brands he got off Amazon to test out. I'll ask him and report back. We tested several mic systems before choosing one. I'll get that info for you as well. We have 6 lolipop style mics (SM-58 form factor) and two headsets with belt packs.
@@JonNewquist Thanks. So... a mish-mash of systems. I haven't yet found a system to make dynamic mics wireless that doesn't suck the life out of the signal. I have one on the way to test!
