But mate, you stopped just before the water. You needed to be moving. Yea, watch out for the ramp up on the far side, balance out on it and lean forward just after the front wheel goes over. Don't stop!
yes should have gone for it - the bank was pretty vertical though and probably would have ended up head down in the mud... a better video though hahaha ;-)

Hi there, great vid! I've got a Himy and live in Levin. I'd be real keen to come for a ride with you blokes. Pretty much a noob but done about 10,000k's on mine, mostly on road but a bit of gravel. Cheers for the entertainment.
@@markisee Hello Mark, thanks for the reply. I don't really know when I'd be up your way, I've got lots of free time but very limited funds... I will check out the Carterton meeting but need to join the club first. I'll sort that out during the week. Thanks for the suggestion and I'll keep in touch. Cheers, Peter.
Hello Mark, you kind of look like a older version of the youtuber "bald and bankrupt", you kind of have the same style of talking also :D is he your secret brother?
hahaha i'm a novice owner of an himalayan too.... but there is something i learned... momentum is your friend hahaha nice and fun video mates! keep going!
Funny video, the Himalayan can do these trails no problem, but need to read the terrain. About that puddle where your bike got stuck, it got stuck because you walked into the puddle rather than glide through the puddle and you should never slowdown or stop near to the water parts just ride at low gear. Keep riding👍
Mark, if you do come South and someone suggests the Lees Valley Rd - Okuku Pass Rd for a ride , might be best to think twice. The Taranaki paper road goat tracks are tame compared to those two corrugated bedrock paths . Good film mate, cheers
@@ItsJustMorris its not that bad, I got a Suzuki Grand Vitara thru there a couple of weeks ago. Its a great ride on a bike as long as the river is low, that ford is the worst part. Even if you have to turn round and head back out of the valley at the Oxford end, its a nice scenic ride. Just don't stop at the picnic area in the middle of the valley as the sandflies will eat you, the bike and anything else they can find.
@@mattyb7736 You drove through in a four wheeled, four wheel drive vehicle. Get get back to us when you've ridden through on a two wheeled, one wheel drive vehicle. You will fined that there is no comparison at all.
@@ItsJustMorris I will be doing it next weekend on my old XL 600 if I get it together in time, I only took the car thru because I had a friend down from Auckland. I ride that valley a lot, the worst bit of it is actually at the Okuku end where the roads been carved out with the logging and theres some very deep puddles in there back by the farm sheds.
@@mattyb7736 You are telling me nothing, I rode through there three weeks ago on an Enfield 500. My point to Mark Bellringer is that it is more of a challenge than Taranaki mud riding, something that he has yet to get the hang of. And that is why I addressed my post to him , and not you .

The Papa Rock gets you every time. Nice to see the Old Country again. Stay upright.
Wonderful video thanks.....we replayed those falls a few times ouch! I'd rather not....the day looks wonderful though!
Great video Mark. I would love to do that road. Might check it out this summer. Cheers mate. Grant
very challenging trail. at least you guys didn't get hurt. love the fact that you guys have a lot of grit.
Great video! You needed more momentum to get over that hole, you went in way too slow. Stand up and when in doubt throttle out!
old boys adventures...¡¡ great. My Himalayan still does not see this kind of challenges. You inspires a lot, I`m 60¡¡
I'm 62 ;-)
It was a grand adventure, thanks for bringing me along.
That's what adventure bike riding is all about!
wish it had been a bit MOOOOORE of an adventure
@@markisee you'll have to come along to one of our rides then! :)

Beating the shit out of that poor Himalayan.

sure let me know when you are up this way - if I'm free I'd be glad to go for a ride - are you going to the Carterton RE meet in March?

Thank God these guys didn't take the Himalayan to Himalayas 😂 those falls would be end of the road for them 😉
Yep, over the side and down eh. Same on the Lees Valley - Okuku Pass Rds

I am passionatelly rooting you two guys for next challenge. I am a H!malayan rider too in Korea😊
Me too. And I'm a Himalayan rider from Assam.
What an outstanding ride guys , very entertaining & I can see now why you love your Himalayan,s
You gotta get the “Sintered Brake Pads” if you’re interested in proper off-roading. Those make a big difference to front brakes
Great vid mate! I’ve just brought a Himalayan three weeks ago and this is the kind of stuff I’m wanting to do with it 👍
Dear Mark...falling off is such a bummer, like going deaf when you're old.....x
hahaha i'm a novice owner of an himalayan too.... but there is something i learned... momentum is your friend hahaha nice and fun video mates! keep going!
Good ride, but next time try to go faster through the mud and you won't be stucked
fak yea more royal enfield channels Im subbing them all
This is the funniest funniest video I’ve seen today!
I have bent the bolts in my RE hand guards also...ended up upgrading to barkbusters!
I hope u have good healthcare downunder.😁 Good on u guys for sticking with it. 👏🇳🇱NL, Transalp.
A cautionary tale. I was contemplating this ride a couple of months back but never got around to it. Glad I didn't now! Keep up the good work though!

Just stand up and ride through those patchs with momentum and you will get more control over your bike
You need to head down to the SI and ride the Rainbow and the Molesworth, thats where this bike really shines, i'm going to do them again next summer

time to switch out those stock tires for some more aggressive knobbies, I think.
On the bright side, y'all didn't land in cactus.
You guys need better off road Tyre

Itchy Boots did a better job off-roading than these two blokes.
at least they are doing what they enjoy, why are you even comparing the both.. she is a full time traveller
half our age and this is the first time I have ever been off road, so pull ya head in
