[TAS] GBC Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by SuperMonkeypotato & jlun2 in

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the sequel to the Sorcerer's Stone for the Game Boy Color released on November 5, 2002. This game is similar in gameplay to the original game with it's turn-based RPG combat system, but now allows use of Harry Potter's two best friends Ron and Hermione in his party in order to help fight creatures. This is the last game that was made for the Game Boy Color.
In this run, SuperMonkeypotato and jlun2 traverse through Hogwarts to once again gain the most points for Gryffindor.

Missed showing the best part of temporarily having Lockhart. His attack that deals 20 damage when he throws his autograph at an enemy.

Excellent job on the TAS guys, I remember when I would spend a whole weekend as a kid grinding up to level 99 and finding all the wizard cards. Encounters and minigames were smooth as heck, really enjoyed this one.

I had no idea they made a sequel to the GBC game. After hearing the boss theme for this game I could only imagine the composers going, "What if we took the boss music from the first game....and made it into an absolute banger. GENIUS!"

I'm currently grinding on The Philosopher's Stone. Chickens are a great source of experience, and Silver Unicorn Horns do the same for money... there's a cape sold for 60K, and each horn gives 37... but there's more than the cape. At least pausing and unpausing reloads the whole instance, so it's an inputfest.

Good to know if I get around to playing that game. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was my favorite of the movies for a while, and that's why I got this game first.

You aren't the only one that spent tons of time grinding this game. That aside from the reason that this is my premier speedgame is why I ended up making this to begin with. It is nice to see how far this game can go.

Could you guys do me a favor and apply that tool to the bowling minigame to get a perfect score? If I remember correctly, the game is programmed incorrectly and counts the bonus frames extra, making a perfect score 330.

1:04:34 if you make everyone in your party faint here, you’ll spawn past the trigger for Lockhart to attack you. That way you can bring Ron and Lockhart to the basilisk fight

Probably takes longer to faint than it does to just beat the Basilisk without them

Not only does it take longer to die there, but it also makes the Basilisk fight slower because you have an extra partner in the fight.

Don't you have to farm the level 2 of the green spell to pass the first boss in bank underground ? I remember having to farm back when I was child.
