I made a similar traps before and the problem is the glued seeds that they grab when they fall, they do get tired and falling in but with the trap open some are getting out, peanut butter works great but not in winter same problem, to fix it put a transparent tape over it on the fare side the other side open it doesn't matter they can't hold on to it, you'll see how much more you'll catch. Super cool and creative dude I been using mouse traps but lately they adapted to it, this trap is genius and is sure to get more than one mouse🎉🎉🎉 don't know why people are hating so much, it's annoying
@@ninjadiy2022I just made it and made a good modification to make it more efficient - counterweights. I taped 4 inch nails on the underside on each side parallel to the fulcrum. They stabilise the swinging motion and ensure that the cardboard returns to the horizontal position quickly and stays there so there's no chance of a gap for the mouse or rat to escape, and there's more resistance with the little extra weight. You can adjust the position of the nails until they're perfectly balanced and the swing stops abruptly. Try it
I just made it and right away I could see the need for an important addition to guarantee greater efficiency - counter weights. Tape 4 inch nails on each side parallel to the fulcrum. They make the swinging more positive and stable, ensure that the cardboard returns to a secure horizontal position right away to minimise the chance of a gap for the mouse/rat to escape. You can adjust the position of the nails until it's perfectly balanced.
Great idea! I used hot glue on the bottom of the other side as the counterweight. The counterweight is a must to return it back to the closed position.
I read someone taped 2 buckets together after cutting the bottom off of the top one. Used Crisco all over the inside of the buckets, added water 1/3 way full in bottom bucket to prevent traction, no ability to jump out so they drown.
@@tanyasanchez1742 Yea that's a common design as well. Any type of oil/grease on sides prevents escape and the double bucket prevents jumpers too. Mostly I think for larger rodents.
It works try to use whatever bait they are going for in your house.. seeds or peanut butter work good but use whatever they are eating at your home as bait. Good luck!
actually it works good enough there are commercial designs on it.. if your having issues with them getting out use oil on inside of bucket and make sure to make a trail of seeds up ramp. Good luck!
You need to turn the cardboard 90⁰ so the wire is running across the grain
yea for me this was heavy duty cardboard but I can see the need to do that if it was lighter stuff too

You shown the build, but you didn't show it working!? 😢

Do they fall trough on bothe sides does it scare them that its no sturdy to walk on?
Omg just spend 2 dollars on a rat trap. So much work and even more expensive than a rat trap. Lol sheesh.
Хороший.налейте чуть чуть воду в ведро миш промокнуть и точно не может пригать
rats may fall inside but considering how big they are and how easy that cardboard flips Im sure they can just jump out of the bucket.
No they stay in actually, as they have nothing to grab onto even if they jump... maybe a racoon sized rat but then you got bigger problems :)
put some glue inside the bucket 😂
@@ridabrahim7604 great idea. but that would defeat the purpose of not harming the animals, wouldn't it?
@@believers2012 true, you can just put some oil on the edges then
You could buy a walk the plank mouse trap.
I’ll stick with a normal mouse trap
Wtf? Did it catch slender man? Show it work!
Yep.. slenderman caught so you can roam freely at night this Halloween... or can you (insert slenderman emoji here )
Show it actually catching mice. 🤔
Landlord is lazy.... gotta deal with them myself. Hopefully this works

Can you speed it up please. Hate it when it's this slow. 🤦
lol ill get on that now 🤣
If you don't even have an attention span of 60 seconds you have problems. Douche.
hey! think you could speed it up a little more?? wtf???
Ill try to get it faster for you :)
Yea ace hardware sells one for 15 bucks and it ain’t cardboard.
Awesome! That answers all the question of "if it works" because a major retailer sell something very similar :) ty
More faster and you win
Ill try to speed it up more for you!
This is so duty
Thank you! it works great !
No one knows if it will actually work.
The mystery continues.. unless you make one.. then you will know it works :)
Does it work?
yes it works great! Sadly the times I have used it and caught mice I have not videoed it and the video was already posted. Happy hunting :)
Too fast to follow
try the long form :) Its hard to fill all instructions in 60 seconds
Does not work at all
Unfortunately it doesn’t work
actually it works good enough there are commercial designs on it.. if your having issues with them getting out use oil on inside of bucket and make sure to make a trail of seeds up ramp. Good luck!
TROP VITE!
RIEN COMPRIS!
ZÉRO!👎
Thank you! yes it works great!
