Great info on the Cube. I just bought one and get delivery tomorrow. Your info will be very helpful.
I also like the quick shot of the Union Pacific Railroad. I rewound your video a few times, but couldn't make out if that was the Union Pacific Challenger 4-6-6-4, (the train was too fast) or if it was the 4-8-4 Northern the UP restored.
I used to own the Challenger engine in HO scale (The 4-6-6-4) from a Bowser Kit that I put together many years ago.
Thanks for doing the video.

That was the UP 4014 Big Boy (4-8-8-4). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Pacific_4014 I got to see it a number of times when it came to our state (Iowa). It was a sight to behold. Here are my videos of it: th-cam.com/video/423qaXTJG4Q/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/v7H_51sRSK4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/Z4i2IeofgtE/w-d-xo.html
I have a firestick, i want to know
Does fire tv cube have its built in IPTV app like the Formuler Z11?
Does TH-cam quality improve compared to firestick?
I cannot stand the firesticks built in media player, it just gives off horrible sounds when media streaming, does the cube have better media player features? I also have VLC on firestick but it is still weird
The software seems pretty much the same as the FireTV Stick. If there are differences, I haven't seen them. Are you using an older version of the FireTV stick or a modern version?
@@Rickmakes I have the firestick 4k version which i bought in the last 4 years, not sure what gen it is, i just wanted something more sharper to improve the quality on youtube and netflix
I know they had added ntfs support but I still don’t think they have added exfat support so limited to 4tb drives.
About the 3 generation FireTV Cube, I notice 2 HDMI PORTS in back of the Cube which one of them has to connect in back of the TV , But what about the 2nd HDMI port , where does that connect to.?
Plug into soundbar ,
You can plug something like a game console in for example, and free up ports on your tv
I got mine a few weeks ago. I love it. One problem I still have is with my auditory needs. I have a severe hearing loss, so I must always listen through my headphones. My TV doesn't have Bluetooth capability, but the Cube does. I connect in that way. However, I'm having increasing difficulty hearing some programs, so I'm looking into different headphones for people with hearing loss. They usually require part of the device being connected to the TV, which is not a good option for me. Can I use one of the ports on the Cube for this purpose?
I don't think the FireTV Cube has that capability but you might be able to use a Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver like this one: th-cam.com/video/cY2Jj84pkQI/w-d-xo.html You can put a device like that in "receive" mode and connect it to the Fire TV Cube as if it was a pair of bluetooth headphones. You can then plug headphones into the 3.5mm (1/8") jack on the Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver.
Does it output tv sound through the speaker build into the cube?
Total novice, I have cable box and presently connect from it to my older semi smart Visio TV via hdmi. What is the 6E wifi connecting to? The cable box? Amazon via the internet? What does the Ethernet cable connect to? I tried connecting it from my cable box to the Fire Cube. My TV sees none of these. I miss when you actually got instructions when you bought something. It would help if I understood the process. Where am I getting my Prime, Paramount+ , Netfilx etc from? Is it coming the internet? Do I get it off my router or off my cable box. It there a tutorial out there for a total novice?
The wifi or ethernet connect the FireTV to the internet. This allows the FireTV to stream services like Netflix, Prime, etc... You would log the FireTV onto your wifi router or connect your FireTV to your router with an ethernet cable. The internet stops at the FireTV. It doesn't provide internet service to your cable box or TV. The FireTV outputs the video on HDMI which is received and displayed by the TV when connected with an HDMI cable. Does that answer any of your questions? Please respond if you need clarification or have more questions. I don't know of any specific tutorials.
Thanks, I found a more basic video and it was easy, although I connected to the router using wifi. Your explanation was very good, thank you.@@Rickmakes
Can I run my fire cube off my iPhone hotspot?
When you connect fire tv app to this device can u turn it on and off, & control the volume from the app on your phone?
No, but there is this thing called a TV remote
@@TheUltimateCola wow what a great answer
What was the purpose of plugging in the USB Drive to the USB In Port?
You can load media onto the USB drive and view it using the Fire TV cube. This would include video, photos and music.
What's the maximum size USB you can put. E.g. Can you attach a 2TB hard drive at the back instead of memory stick?
How fast is it as percentage over the previous Cube 2nd Gen?
Can you use the second HDMI to run to TV simultaneously on one FireCube?
I'm guessing it would accept pretty much any size drive you plug into it. I unfortunately don't have a 2nd gen cube to compare it to. The second HDMI is for input. You can connect something like a Playstation to it and then you select the HDMI input in the FireTV interface.

Thanks. The Old Amazon cube dies not have a USB input on the back.
If anyone knows whether you can plug in a portable USB storage please let us know on the new Amazon Cube
Did you use a regular HDMI tv or a smart tv to setup your fire cube
This was a smart TV but it works with either type or even a computer monitor or projector.
Can I connect my old firetvstick with this ?
This does the same thing as a Fire TV Stick but you could plug one into the back.
It should come with an HDMI cable as much as they are asking for it !
Right
Show back of fire cube hookup please
Can ya jailbreak that thing
I'm not sure but you should be able to sideload Android APKs on it.
Any enthanet port that aint a gig or more is a waste of a slot
Thanks for your input. Just curious, which applications do you use or would you use on the Fire TV that uses more than 100Mbps. I have done a recent video where I test the network speeds on the Cube: th-cam.com/video/NfK90pS6zZo/w-d-xo.html You might find it of some interest.
@RickMakes I run a home server suporting my private jellyfin media server and just prefair things not to choke up or be close to being saturated. They just skimping not including a basic 1gig port. Granted 2.5 onwards would be a waste but I stream high bitrate 4k content the reason I wanted this cool little device is for out TV that's os is tizen somthing I find lacking suport for 90% of the things I want from a smart tv on the basic of memory and app choice. So this amazon fire cube would be a great addition. Just dont like the idea of knowing in can hinder the performance of a stream whilst performing media management on the device. Overall tho biddy it seems a solid device and that once change alone for me would make it alot more appealing as someone on the fence currently deciding what device around the £150 marc can offer based on specs and suport for my requirements. I do also have a handful of handheld like Samsung smart phones and fire tablets that have the jellyfin client install3d but the TV gets a bit more care as its the main viewing device and aint a scheap 4k tv so would lile everyrhing to be onpar to stop potential bottlenecks. Sorry for xxl reply lol thought ide include more rather than less to build a better image
@RickMakes the most perplexing part is wifi 6. Gives us an overachiving wireless option wisest taking 90% of the lan bandwidth away. Ide have been prety happy with 5ghz and 1gig eth.
@@lyonscultivars I’m going to have to get one of the usb adapters from the other video to try as the 100meg onboard isn’t quick enough to stream self ripped 4k movies, constant buffering. I end up having to use ffmpeg to reduce the quality of the video just to watch it.
End up having to use vlc on the Xbox and that streams from my nas fine. But would prefer to use the cube as the interface is much better and the remote is easier to use than an Xbox remote or controller.
Go Buy The Fire Tv Cube 3rd Generation It Has Fire Tv Stick 4K
😂😂😂❤❤❤🎉🎉 🎉😢😢😢😮😮😮😅😅😅😊😊😊
Talks too fast😮
This didn't help
What specific topic do you wish I had covered?
@Rickmakes some one also complaining it help me
A.L.E.X.A. Really? Not knowing what Alexa is kinda makes me doubt this dude knows what he's talking about. I immediately stopped watching.
I have had videos where I said, "Alexa" and it triggers the devices of the people watching the video so I will often just spell it out to avoid that. Sorry for the confusion.
@@Rickmakes My mistake. I apologize. I'll remove the comment.
Gave you a like for my being an a$$
@disciple68 Lol...I have a total of 9 Amazon devices in my house that use "wake-words" so I can fully understand the dilemma of saying a wake-word during a human conversation then having an Echo start blaring out the news, weather, etc. from one of the devices. I had to strategically use different wake words for every device. It's not perfect but it helps. I hope Amazon continues adding more wake-word names & options. Good video Lon👍🏻
