I just replaced subframe on 2005 toyota camry, and everything was done on my driveway. It was so rusted, I had really tough time getting it out. Specially those bushings and bolts, they were completely seized together, I had to cut them open. Thanks for your video, it was very helpful.
Great info thank you for posting How did you remove/ install the rearmost adjustable link arms? Is it a welded nut on the inside of the frame, or did you have to get a wrench, or a socket on the backside of the bolt? If so how did you do it? Thanks for any info you might be able to share.
Welded nut on subframe. Not and bolt on knuckle. You only just to undo the knuckle side on removal as you leave the arms attached and discard with the frame.
Thanks for the video! I'm looking to replace my rear control arms - but hopefully I can do it without taking off the subframe. Is this what subframes look like on the east coast?! What kind of labour rate do you charge for a job like this?
@@juancarloswick1 This is what most look like out this way. I’m not for hire, just help out friends and family, but a job this you would just have to charge hourly.
Just unbolt the lateral arms and end links. It’s really not a bad job, unless you mess up the bushings where the lateral arms attach to the bushings. Even then, you just need a new knuckle. Not the end the world.
Here it is. www.ebay.ca/itm/114819100465?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=FlnL8rYkT2-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=nwJmcmORSee&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY You can shop around for other kits as this one is quite expensive.
Did u have to drop the struts too? Or just unbolt arms and rods and stuff? How long did it take you? I might be doin this soon. My rear subframe is rusted completely where the right lateral arm attaches. It's still in there. I just don't know how it's holding it still. I'm not a mechanic at all My friend gonna do it at his shop. I was just trying to figure out how long and stressful this was gonna be. I'm already stressed like my subframe is lol

The struts are not touched, as you can see in the video.
