Interesting little fact, during the filming of Demolition Man, Wesley Snipes was asked to slow down his Martial Arts moves because the speed was causing the movement on camera to become blurred lol
I feel a lot of that was because of how Snipes portrayed Phoenix as "evil with standards". He was nuts by normal metrics, sure, but he wasn't an unhinged maniac. If you weren't a direct threat, he generally left people alone unless he was trying to make a point. That's not to say he wouldn't just kill you, but he tended to not be indiscriminate. He also HATED Cacteau (can't spell his name) for how he was a lying hypocritical manipulator. Phoenix was open about who he was, which is why it's shown (at least in my opinion) that he doesn't have anything against John Spartan personally other than they're two opposite forces working against one another.

He had two guns, an automatic gun switch, meth and marijuana and they babied him during the swat holdoff at his house. He had two guns, an automatic gun switch, meth and marijuana and they babied him during the swat holdoff at his house.
