Description: In this session, Dallas quickly finishes his discussion on Matthew 5:38, then moves into discussions on trusting in our pious reputations and in our own provision for financial security. Next, he discusses how trusting in God instead of our own reputations/resources positions humans to be in community, the difference between condemnation engineering and discernment, how to be helpful (“dogs and hogs”), and how to bring God and his Kingdom into our asking people to change. This entire session is powerful, but here is a beautiful one-liner that challenged me: "It is wonderful to see Jesus dipping into the realities of human life as God has made them and bring out the teaching." In detailing the implications of “ask, seek, and knock,” Dr. Willard utilizes Luke 22:31-32 in a unique way which is also highly insightful.
    Major texts: Matthew 6:1-7:11; Luke 22:1-4, 31-32
