I love this set, though i don't own much of it. It's so nice looking!
I agree. I think I might ask Santa for the compete set. I'm sure they won't be going down in value.
Literally just came across and purchased this set today in a comic book shop. Couldn't wait to check your channel when i got home! Thanks for all the time you invest, greatly enjoy the knowledge and history you share 🤙
That's awesome to hear! I hope you liked the video. I really want to grab this compete set myself.
@@Brian-pf7qq I joke with my wife that it's the 90's Olympic Hall of Fame - Caitlyn Jenner wrong name/gender card, lol.
My favorite is more of a misprint. I pulled it from a pack of '94 Topps. #158, the Jeter prospects card. There is a white printer dot sitting perfectly on his left pupil. It makes him look like a freakin' cyborg. My friend always said Jeter was not human, when we were kids, so it makes me laugh and think of him. My friend took his life a few years after returning from deployment. Opening packs takes me back to us sprinting for my mom's '94 Dodge minivan after visiting the card shop at the local flea market on a Saturday morning.
@Brian-pf7qq that question sounds like a cool video idea. As for me, I have sooooo many I'm not sure if I have a favorite. Maybe the 57 Hank Aaron rev/neg. It's not hard to find because it was never corrected but I like it, and i got a good price. I also like my Topps Star Wars C3po gold boner.
This set is almost 40 years old, how time flies...thats crazy, Richard Barnes looks almost identical to Neal Heaton.
That comment makes me feel old... and yes, I totally agree they look similar.
The comment is coming from a 47 year old so don't feel old bro.@@Hungryman97sCollectibles
Here's one for you.
1984 was NOT the first time Donruss issued Rated Rookies.
It was 1983 but labeled on the back (check out Greg Brock)
I looked it up to see what you were talking about. And you're right.
In my area they were harder to get than Topps and fleer.
Interesting. I didn't get into cards till 89, and they had everything here in the NW, mainly Donruss.
Donruss upped its game big time by this point. Cool episode. Keep them coming.
I agree. I think it helped cement their presence as a top card maker. I mean, at least for a while.
