The 325a has been one of my favourite ships since the Kickstarter. It was my second ship, after my Freelancer MIS, and not my daily driver, but it's been regular member of my fleet since the beginning. I have all the options (except the component packages) and absolutely love my little scarlet and woodgrain beauty.
Just logged after the patch, 325a missile operator still missing. It's been this way for a few months. If you were looking forward to the wilsop missile system, you can't even access missiles... much less fire them in the 325a currently.
Yeah, I have said for YEARS that the 325A is the best bang for the buck. SO, for $5 LESS than an Arrow, you get more firepower, more missiles, cargo space, a bedroom, a kitchen, Even a Bathroom. not to mention the Customization options unique to the 300 series. While YES the Arrow is a marvelous dedicated fighter, you just get so much more SHIP in the 325. That said. I kind of miss the Oldstyle 300 series. and back THEN, I liked the 300i better. it had incredible acceleration and handled better than the 325. and I hope, seeing as they are letting us keep the mk1 hornets, I hope they will bring back the classic 300 series. So I must admit, that through the years, I have owned (then upgraded out of) so many 325s. but once customization came in. I had to buy one as a keeper. and I also have a 350R as a keeper.
I havent really played this game in 10 years, but i am thinking about reinstalling it again. 325a was my first ship and the package that brought me into the game.. I'm being recommended to melt this down and pay a little extra for the C1 or the Cutty Black, what are your thoughts?
Welcome back! You’ve returned at a good time, 3.23.1 is an awesome patch! Definitely try out the new flight modes in Arena Commander first! But honestly I’d say just stick with your 325a! The C1 and Cutty are both good ships but I wouldn’t recommend any upgrade to someone that’s not actively playing the game! Although for me personally, I’d rock the 325a until I could save up for a Taurus 😁
That all depends on what you’re comfortable with for FPS. I have a 14900k, 4090, M.2 and 64 GB DDR5 @6000. I run around 80-120 FPS on 4K. You may get 30-70, but it’s hard to say. But right now is a free fly so try it out and see for yourself! And definitely use my best settings guide (video) on my channel for the best performance! And if you do buy, don’t forget to use my referral code too, for a free 5,000 aUEC 😁!
This ship needs help. Anything this ship "intercepts" is gonna turn around and whup the tar out of it. A S4 gun (at least at the moment) isn't much different than the S3 except it soes a little more damage, draws more power, makes more heat, and you can't mount a decent distortion gun to it. I "traded up" to the 325a from the Titan. I flew it a couple times, but I had the Defender as a loaner and once I tried that, I never went back. While it is flexible, I think other than as a planet-side luxury runabout, or single passenger space towncar, the poor 325a is outclassed by most other starters. The Titan is like the 325a, only afaic tell better in every way, minus the toilet, and coffee maker. And cheaper. Sure is a looker, though. I'm sure the gold pass will fix it up a bit. It has been on the back burner since it's initial revamp ages ago.
@@TauHero Defender fans can empathize. The stock guns were nerfed a week after release, and are still the worst guns in the game. The arms fall off too easy, and the ship loses control. The headlights suck. Stock MFDs suck. The interior weapons racks eat guns. On top of that, most of the selling points of the ship (co-pilot gameplay, internal component access, special shield, EMP missiles, huge fuel tank) either aren't implemented or currently don't offer all that much to gameplay. It is decent at fighting, rarely needs a refuel, and has an interior that is pretty flexible. Otherwise, it's a realllllll slowwwww burrrrrn waiting for it to be a good ship.
A lot of these balances will change now with master modes and eventually armor. These interceptors will find a really good place (esp 325a's new acceleration and speed)! But once you go Defender, its hard to fly anything else. That ship just slaps!
I kind of wish I hadn't traded up my 325a, it is a nice ship. I have a 350r racer that's nice as well. The 300 series is the only ship you can customize the interior of when you buy it once iirc.
love it for its ability to run bunkers but wouldn't use it in competitive combat in air/space, it moves pretty good but its arms are pretty weak. exploring and stuff is dope though and a lot of scu space for what it is.
Love the 300 series but man the flight experience is in desperate need of an update. They seem to have one of the oldest engine sound models and one of the most egregious cases of bobble head physics. Now with MMs it's even weirder because they were literally made into incerceptors, which IMO they shouldn't be. Super fast, super nimble, super squishy.
I bought and fully customized 325a to my liking but its a glass house.. Im not sure what you mean about fighting capability. any light fighter destroys this ship with ease with no upgrades.. its a flex to have one maaaaybe? but no it has no real purpose

Its such an awesome ship that's only gotten better over time. And that glass canopy offers incredibly breathtaking views!
i love this ship, but the missiles don't work for me. haven't since i bought it in 3.21
Yea its a really unfortunate bug on an otherwise awesome ship!

Yea its really unfortunate when these bugs arise, and we lose out on our favorite ships!
They finally fixed it, assuming the nomad is fixed also but no feedback yet.
I still don’t have use of the missiles in the 325a
@@thelonefloorer Yup this patch messed it up again, also interior customization is missing.
@@TauHerothought the interior design was just me
Great information 👍, but I have love for my 315 😊
315 just can't fight as well
@@AgnosiaAgnosis Yeah, that´s true. But in exchange you get a beautifull silhouette that is not blighted by a monsterous gun under the nose :D
Its arguably the best choice, given the storage and nose mounted tractor beam!
This is what I chose back in the day. I still hope SC will actually launch for real some day.
Congrats on your pickup! And it’s a fun game to play right now. If you’re looking for new gameplay, checkout the new Microtech Distribution Centers!
Would have chosen the 315p, the extra storage wins it for me.
I mean... If you want cargo get a c1

oh man, if you do you will feel so lost, game had huge but huge updates this year

I had my 325a since '16... loved it until the agility nerf. Back burner indeed, 0FG on the missing missile operator for months now.

Its definitely not as strong as other dedicated dogfighters, but has some awesome utility, power and fantastic aesthetics!
I’m hoping the sensors and speed prove good enough to let me pick and choose when to fight and when to avoid. Obviously it’s no war fighter.

Wait what? Wrong version dude.
While the 315p is the dedicated pathfinder, I’d argue the 325a can still manage competently in this role!
You forgot to mention the 325 A
Just all its potential!
