    When trolling in both boats , do either of you use a trolling plate or just drift bags?

    You have a really nice set up there.

    Do you ever have a problem hooking up with the smaller Northeast Troller spoons? I've been losing a lot of fish after initial hookup and I'm being told the treble hooks are too small.

    Do you ever have the line slip up your Chamberlain release? I've had my lure come back to the ball a few times. Any tips?

    • @mainetroutwhisperer
      @mainetroutwhisperer  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. You have to wind the line around about 5 times and make a loop when you hook it on the release. Do you do that? That should prevent it.

      @@danlevecque7203 twist it right up. I do like 6 twists or so. What kind of line you using?

      10 lb mono leader Its attached to my lead core line . The lead core does not go thru the release.

    • @mainetroutwhisperer
      @mainetroutwhisperer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@danlevecque7203 I see. You shouldn’t need the leadcore with the downrigger. Just run straight mono. The ball will get you to the right depth. Either way, the mono should work in the clip. I’m making a specific video on downriggers soon.

      Just because you never released your dad’s pants pike from your mouth doesn’t mean they can’t release a fish. Some people choose to release them, some choose to kill them.

    • @mainetroutwhisperer
      @mainetroutwhisperer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think leaving a trail of dead pike behind the boat is a good look.. you’re never going to eradicate pike out of this water body if that’s what you’re getting at. I generally don’t keep fish I’m not going to eat/use.
