Oh great you have a young kid with you , so not only are you teaching him its ok to illegally trespass and break into places but you 've taken him to a place that is very dangerous and could cause his death. good job to whoever is supposed to be parenting that kid you're doing a bang up job!
I thought about the young boy making the wrong step on decayed flooring and landing on the first floor, but I tried not to think about it as reality. I wonder why you are the only one to call out the idea of "parenting" because as a mother I agree with you. The boy should not have been a part of this exploration ...... too dangerous!
Wowey wow. This place was huge. Those Windows, wood work, statues were incredible. Views out the window were nice too. Shame it's been left to ruin like this. Cheers to you and thanks for the great tour.
Such a shame if this is left to continues to decay! Thank you for taking so much time to show us so much of this massive monistary! You took many risks! Be very careful. Would never want anyone injured just to show us this, but so appreciate your willingness to to us on your adventures! Thanks much!
Frame 1:01:51, this video is just non stop. When you think you have seen everything, this phenomenal thing shows up! This has to be pure marble. Look at the size and height! Thank you for an awesome video, not sure how the heck I missed this one.😁👍🏻
Love the stain glass windows, arches, and large huge wood doors. This place is definitely being renovated. You folks are lucky as heck, not bumping into the construction crew.
They could sell off portions for a nominal price on the condition they restored it for their own use living, give people a chance to get up on the property ladder and boost building work !
I know explorers don't steal or take... But I think it's a crying shame fireplaces, banisters, hardware, & or doors etc can't be salvaged!!! Even windows instead if turning to black rot & mold.
This is amazing vid , you’ve showed far more than anyone else ever has , it’s just more awesome than I thought it was , I’d come home with a thousand stills if I ever get in there , can’t see anything ever being done with it though, it’s too far gone in places, keep up the good work
Thanks Caley we spent about 5 hours in there and i drained 2 gopro batteries but it was worth every step of it, i wasn't driving all that way to get a knock back wasn't in the mood for it lol, id deffo go back im sure we missed stuff who knows though
Way out with your date's. It was built in the 1880's and extended by Pugin in the 1920's. Have a look at this link- www.lancashirelife.co.uk/out-about/places/hidden-lancashire-st-joseph-s-seminary-upholland-1-4795162 or just google St Joseph's Seminary, Up Holland. There's lots of information on Wikipedia and other websites. The place is not preserved at all, it's about 8 miles from where I live and it's derelict and dangerous, which is why many thousands of £s were spent fencing it all off.
@@philyew3617 There was a sign that had 1882 in Roman numerals at one point. I assumed that was the build date. It's a pity it can't be turned into something like a residential school, though the cost would be astronomically high. It makes me sad to see such decay. It feels like we're living in the final days of the Roman Empire at times. Surrounded by the decaying ruins of buildings we can no longer build or maintain. Doubtless at some point the wrecking balls will come in and a shoddily built housing estate will take its place!

I know I'm commenting on this late but What was it? an old school or private college for people to learn theological studies and learn to be a minister or just be a theologian. looks like it could have been a self-sustaining place to having its own textile part with all those textile machines. Massive rooms and bedrooms its a shame it went to ruins I bet it would still be an awesome place to be in. now just looks like something out of a silent hill horror scene. Try going here at night. not me lol.

People would tithe hoping to salvage their souls through prayers and absolution to be blessed and forgiven to gain access to Heaven. The more they sinned the higher the tithe called the "tithe of guilt". Many wealthy individuals worried about their souls gave handsomely to the church so as to be buried in the church or on the church grounds.
This event is happening all over the United States as well as more and more people decide not to attend church. Without a congregation of people who tithe, the churches cannot survive and make necessary repairs to their rectories, seminaries, or their churches. This goes for both the Catholic, Protestant, and Non-Denominational churches.

Beautiful place... Awesome video! But what's with the kid??? And nobody had a mask on...

The Church has too much money and WHAT happened to religion and faith that they used to be able to fill this place with future priests ?
A disastrous thing called the Second Vatican Council, that's what happened.
