Great interview mate. Micky Dee is THE best hard rock/heavy metal drummer EVER, in my humble opinion. Motorhead are one of the few bands who were just as great with every line-up. From the original 3, to Micky Dee: Motorhead ruled!
Crazy solid interview. Very sad about Wurzel. The story about the reunion tour. I would guess, Eddie (not Phil, because always needs money for the wrong drugs), but Eddie would have delined it too, because out of false pride. I coulda be wrong though.
I don’t buy Mickeys reason that he left King Diamond because of the complexity of the drumming..Thats what great drummers do..Im sure the Motor Head gig was alot more lucrative and paid the bills ..
Artisticly overuse of certain stuff in a certain way when you can do more or different , it can be annoying and you just get bored . I had the same thing with Extravasion . I needed a pause .. I did a vintage 50's /70's blues rock n roll band , playing more free and more structured . Then with my own stuff its very heavy but its more balanced that what Extravasion became .

Micky Dee seems to be a very normal guy drummer excellent player dose not need to stoned to call him self a rock musician.
