She has matured into a vocal beast and a lot of that is confidence. Guess when Aretha picks you to play her in this movie it does something for you. Though being on the Voice UK has helped. You need to check out some of the stuff she has been doing there and a lot of it is impromptu, I recommend The Impossible Dream and her off the cuff duet with Tom Jones on It's a Man's World, great chemistry and she does something that will drop your jaw.

I saw Jennifer sing 5 songs at a convention in MN shortly after the Oscars and she just stood and sang four songs and then started to work the crowd and it was amazing.

I rate JHud so much. Vocally & as a person. She seems to be getting the roles if quite a few of the female black singers from the past. But stylistically and vocally I don't think she's the best fit for Aretha. She sings much more like Patti labelle.
