I’m 44 years old and my parents were boomers, I have all older siblings, come from a big family very much into music and the arts, and somehow I have never heard of Jack Jones until this very night 12/16/23?! I’m looking at him and I’m thinking I have never seen this man before! Ever that I recall. How is that possible? 😳
I was fortunate enough to see Jack Jones in concert about a year before this performance at the now-closed Venetian Room at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. He opened the show by singing I AM A SINGER off stage (!) and then came on stage to deliver 90 minutes of the most immaculate singing (backed by a full orchestra) I have ever heard -- and I saw Sinatra several times in concert. The memory of that night lingers as an indelible memory of a true master at work. Thank you for the memories Jack. As Jerry Lewis says at the close of this video, "you heard the best". How right he was !
I also saw him in Cleveland and that perfomrance so many years ago is till etched in my mind..One of the best ever!! What a voice..He should have been a Mega Superstar!! Dont understand why he never reached that plateau..
A true artist who, besides his clear, legitimate, flawless voice, draws you in because he lives inside the story of the song and makes you feel it with him. Also, this is the only singer other than Barbra Streisand I've heard sing "people", and a male to boot. Again, hearing him completely own it, one would almost forget that Barbra or anyone else ever delivered it.
Superb. He is one of my favorite male singers in the likes of Perry Como, Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra, Matt Monro, Tom Jones, Engerbert Humperdinck and lot more 50,60 & 70s era. I love his voice a lot. You can feel his emotions and carried away with his rendition and voice is like he is telling a story. His songs are my first list on my iphone when travelling alone driving in an open highway with overcast weather or rainy or foggy or all weather depending my mode so that I could sing on the top of my lungs.😀..and nobody can complain ..😊 Thank you for this video. Appreciate it.
A classy singer. Came along during the rock and roll generation which may have hurt his career somewhat. As good looking as he was, I never could understand why he didn't star in musicals. Maybe, if he had been born 10 years earlier.
I can’t explain my sadness, heaven only knows how much his wife, family and friends must be feeling? I became a fan from the age of 9 when I watched you in concert with my Mum and Dad in 70s. We were blessed to have had this incredible musical talent in our lives. His vocal range, songs so sensitively crafted and the magical ability to make any song he sung… uniquely his own. Jack we will miss you for the classiest singer since Sinatra, Bennett and Nat King Cole that you were as well as that wonderful man in concert, that entertained, made us laugh and cry with your unassuming and consummate skill and talent. God Bless and RIP Jack 😢 xx
...Frank once told Jack that he had the clearest voice and presentation of anyone he ever heard; and would have a very long career. 60 years, Jack; keep on entertaining in that really big room upstairs.
He is so good!! I can relate to him!! I sang religious songs like Sandi Patty songs for years and loved it so much. I never did it professionally like him, but I was in another realm when I was singing and performing!! 🎼🎵🎶❤🦋
Highest level of singer.
Frank Sinatra said Jack Jones was better than him. I think so, too. Jack never got the recognition he earned.

I (we all) miss Jerry. Jack is outstanding. But the orchestra is beyond that superlative.

Yep, he is a singer.
lt’s hard to find singers that have Jack Jones’ vocal range. He can sing low and high notes without any effort.

Excellent performance. I became a fan when I heard his song "She." And he is so handsome.
Dynamics, precision, passion and boldness - Jack Jones carries you away to a beautiful and perfect world.

One of the very best singers of his type. His rendition of 'People' is superb. Control, range, power, tenderness .... It's all there... magnificent.

RIP Jack Jones. Admired by Sinatra and Bennett. With good reason...for my money better vocally than either.
His dad was an opera singer. Incredible voice.
Jack is superior to all those second rate singers you named!!!
R.I.P Jack...

...if the first song sounds like it was written for Barry Manilow, it was his songwriter.
