  • Here is a 1969 Boss 429 that I built using two kits. The Revell 1969 428CJ Mach 1, and the Revell 1970 Boss 429. This was not a bad kit bash project!

I was hitchhiking with a friend and a guy picked us up in one of these. I of course just thought it was another Mustang but when he shifted through the gears I was not quite in the back seat and was frozen there until he decelerated. I always thought it was a BROWN color , so thanks Raoul for your detailed information and it puts the Mustang as a 1969 Boss for sure. Thank it was beautiful build you've done and Wow to do a Better one, that would top that would be a stunner. Love the way you jump into building models, no hesitating to try something more than just out of the box as is.

I built the 70 Boss 429 a few years ago, dark burgundy, window slats, O-ring on air cleaner for seal to hood. I custom Aero II wheels in the kit. Mine is more of a custom.

I have this kit and I want to build the Boss 429! I have the parts from a retired '70 Boss 429 and I will use them for the '69 Boss 429. Thank you for the review of your model '69 Boss 429!

Another thing I'll have to add to my Mustangs to do list. Polyglas GT's would be nice too, those Eagle GT's have always been a real distraction. Thanks for sharing.

I built this kit about 25 years ago but I wasn't too happy with how it came out. Always enjoy how you give the history of the real car.

When I pull my kits out from 20 years or more ago, I am amazed at how my talents have progressed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a professional builder by any means. But there is a satisfaction I get when I can see my talents and skills improving. Appreciate you sharing this build, but more importantly sharing the areas for improvement that you now feel confident in tackling in a future build. That's inspiration that we all can take away to keep plugging.
