I don’t know if X games is under new management or whatever, but X games California appears to be something of an ode to the early era of X games where it was about the athletes, and not about TikTok influencers, and that sort of thing. I’m so happy to say that I love X games again.
I've read that the Xgames brand has been bought by an entity looking to 'restore xgames to its former glory' and I gotta say, I'm seeing good feedback in most comments. Even for me, most exciting xgames I've seen in a while!

Seriously. Great sportsmanship, great tricks, great commentary, amazing camerawork, just sheer perfection.
Think the story of a rookie taking gold really influenced the judges scoring on that last run. Plus i think rwilly landing the double front EVERY run made them a bit numb to it, even though no one else even attempted it.

R Willy landed a flawless run nothing could be improved where Brady was a bit sketch in places still both unreal.

Idk how much he paid the judges for that 93 on a run with only a couple good tricks and 3 sketchy landings, my man did a 360 barspin to win this 😂😂😂what a joke of a comp
The last run for R Willy and also the second were the wining runs. Double front flip, front superman/almost tsunami, front no hands, double flip 360. Baker's run was also amazing, but trick by trick, R Willy got a better and more unique run.

Similar tricks on the first 3 hits and he put a foot down on the last jump.
Bradys run was amazing but imperfect. Ryan’s run was amazing but perfect.
Those judges were totally wacked....no way that was right. Ryan easily won that. That last run to get a 93.00...................??? Godzieks run as well? Sure he said 'you've got to be joking' when the score came up....don't blame him either.....
i agree on Godziek being a little underscored. but i can't decide between rw and brady baker. brady sure did some crazy tricks as well, and the amplitude was wayy up there. glad i wasn't the judge on this one
yeah i think it should have been R-Willy, Baker, Godziek!!!! Baker did some insane stuff but so close with Godziek, Ryan's run was flawless!!!

@@patb6430 not really cause bmx especially dirt isn’t just but technical it’s about going big the double front lip has huge consequences and that’s not to take anything away from martin as he is an absolute beast i just feel that that it a huge trick to be doing in contest
@@BBB_photography_adventures yes its risky but that doesn't mean its hard! It just means you're gonna get hurt if you make a mistake. Degree of difficulty is in the technically scored aspect. And as for style, I think its safe to say its a horrible looking trick. Andy buckworth taking his hands off in a double doesn't even look good! I've seen Jaie Toohey in person ride Cam White's trails and trust me when I say no one gets close to his height! If it was scored solely on the eye test RWilly would win every comp, but this isn't nitro circus!

He wasn't at all. RW does tricks that are pleasing to the eye, but this isn't nitro circus! You gonna pretend Martin's oppo quadwhip wasn't more impressive than half the total runs in just one trick? Difficult tricks aren't always the most pleasing to watch but that doesn't make them less important in a comp. Any beginner on a bike can learn a backflip in an hour if they have a foam pit. I doubt a beginner could learn a 180 and half cab on flat in a week

Brady's an AWESOME dude and rider. But Ryan definitely should've had the gold. Seems like Brady got a slight scoring edge. It's likely because he's the new young rider on the scene that they wanna push for years to come.
The rook is an amazing rider dont wanna take anything away from him but looks like xgames couldnt pass up on the opportunity for a storied headline r.willy was robbed smh

Honestly the only reason why I say Ryan should have won was because on Brady's run, hes did a setup trick in the third jump, doing a 360 barspin. Ryan's setup trick was the frontflip, which is a harder trick to perform. It honestly was pretty much a toss up beyond that. The last trick he did was insane, people who don't ride don't realize how retarded that downside whip cash roll is. He's doing a trick that requires a certain amount of flowing rotation, while doing a whip in the OPPOSITE direction.....ridiculous 🤣 I do believe Ryan's run was a little better overall but let's not disrespect the kid, Brady DESERVES his medal 💯💯
Also, Ryan's THIRD run was really his best run 🤣 his foot coming off shouldn't have brought the score down that much. If he landed that clean that would have been the winning run, guaranteed
@@Bakuru I do think losing a foot like that will count quite heavily. It's similar to a skateboarder putting his hand on the floor; you're almost falling. But yeah Ryan's tricks were sick.

For all the Rwilly was robbed comments..stick to nitro circus, extension wasn't quite where he usually has the superman front flip, hardly an extended no handed front flip and dropped a foot on the Aussie-roll! Incredible run and definitely worthy but he wasn't robbed. RW does the most "pleasing to the eye" tricks, that doesn't make them the most difficult. His style and training has always been suited to mega ramp and best trick and hes king of that.

Seems like the managers at d games realized ryan was robbed and tried to cut out his run. Then they realized that cutting it out caused even more damage.
