This is similar to what I wanted for Mario Oddysey's multiplayer, whenever the player controlling cappy captured something they controlled that enemy and Mario could control his own individually

I think that honestly depends how much control you give to the AI. A piranha plant, if given free reign over vertical control, could easily always catch your landing. The football players could always catch your landing and Dodge you hitting their head, etc etc

Hm, interesting. So, I created this multiplayer mode 10 years ago under the code name "Project Bottle", later released in a still very much unfinished state in 2011. I had no idea someone had later taken it and built new levels on top of it.
While I'm happy that people got some amusement out of it, I'm also sad to see it used in its current state (rather than someone finishing it) since I only ever implemented proper support for a fraction of the enemies. Only Chuck, Swooper, the climbing Koopas and Banzai Bill have specialized code; everything else just defaults to a simplistic "turn/hover/fall" routine I put in as a placeholder to give some primitive controls for the "not yet officially supported" enemies. It's a shame, since it currently only scratches the surface of what one could do with a system like this. (I dunno, maybe this should serve as motivation to one day resume work on it.)
My personal favorite was coding support for Chuck since its rich moveset (sitting, walking, running, jumping, splitting) made it a blast to playtest. Oh yeah, and because it's totally OP.

@@BlueTelevisionGames Nah, it's fine. I just felt like providing some context on why the enemy controls are often quite wonky; it's literally just an early prototype version that was released as-is to the public instead of rotting away on a hard drive somewhere.

Reminds me of Agent Hunt in Resident Evil 6. In both games, enemy characters are slower, harder to control, die quickly, and can be frustrating, but you can control endless swarms of them to eventually win.

Gets boring fast and probally leads to more issues than fun for the younger audience and Nintendo is targeting the younger audience.
And here they are pumping out more Mario games than we can ever imagine. Yet in the end it's just more level designs and nothing legitimately new.
It's basically Super Mario World Odyssey: 2 Player Edition! Also, about jumping out of the water, you need to hold up and jump. Also, I've got an idea on what you should play next: a fangame called Psycho Waluigi. It's pretty fun! You're playing as Waluigi and have to conquer all the kingdoms in Unconcia. Oh, and you have PSYCHIC POWERS (yes, it's written in all caps in the game)!

How nostalgic, I remember this was the first BTG video I ever watched from my Nephew BTG
I remember in Mario Odyssey I would always play as Cappy, and whenever my younger brother would try to go in a pipe, door, etc., I would just jump, and that would just boost him so he couldn't go in lol.
