Alien Storm by Ursa Dax has this, too! It is the 13th book in the series, and you really kinda have to read them in order, but the whole series is wonderful. And I definitely wasn't thinking I would like this hero at first, but he became one of my ultimate favorites of the whole series by the end, and this trope definitely helped. So worth it.
Love it! Stevie sparks book will be read asap! And a rec I have is willas beast by ruby Dixon. It's a part of the ipb world but a bit different from the first books because willa is part of a new crop of girls and Gren is not the typical ipb hero.
