    Great troubleshooting and repair work once again Wizard! Really enjoy and very grateful there are guys like you who freely share with others your insight and talent working on this equipment.

    I have 2 of these instruments. First one was free but totally dead. Turned out that a couple of tantalum caps (100uF if I recall) in the +15v supply were shorts causing that supply to fail. Every other supply rail uses the +15 as a reference so with the 15 dead they were all dead. There are a ton of tantalum’s in this instrument. It has recently started going into cal mode every 30 seconds or so and I haven’t checked it out yet. You’ve given me a couple of ideas of where to start. Great video - I’ve not found much info on this model out there. It is a beautiful instrument with all the cast aluminum card cages. It was expensive back in the day but would be impossible to manufacture today.

    What did you replace the latex pads with?

      I have not replaced them yet. I am still looking for something to replace them with.
