    I had a set and 2 of them fell off during driving. The spinning force pulls the clips out over time. Put a dab of silicon on each of the teeth to make sure it stays put.

    Or if you're my local bmw dealer, pry the center caps out with a metal pick and when I return to pick the car up tell me it was like that.

      that kind of services make me never back! they think we are idiots? i take more than a year of payment into a used, but nice car... just because it was old not means the car is trash and not deserve caution... i found a nice place now that even polish free my car when i need some services, plus they do a nice work in mechanic, i just need a nice shop for cosmetic stuff, i want ambient lights in my bmw 120i 2015 and here is kind hard to fine someone enable to do the job... i bought RGB kit, but never take off a piece of console to do it properly, i had some fear in breaking stuff... my money is not infinity and i like to take care of my stuff. this is why i want professional to do it... if i do it, may works, but, is possible to make some mistake as i did in my old PC, i break 3 or 4 pins that fix the front painel, after i switch my case i almost did the same mistake, but this time i break a screw in my radiator, soo, with cars the problem is worse because is a machine that i use to travel in roads, i prefer pay more but be made right!

    I used a thin guitar pick to pop the original caps without removing the wheel. Found out that the dealership used a screwdriver to remove the caps when I had the tires changed and they actually scratched my rims!

    Popping it out from the inside is the safest way to do it, but if you're careful you can lever them out pretty easily. I have an iFixIt toolkit, and the plastic trim remover did the job nicely. It's not as good as the RR center cap, but it's a nice subtle mod.

    Could you show how to hardwire an dash cam on f30, May be just the connections to the fuse.
    Thanks

    • @joshtheld
      @joshtheld 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fuse tap and find a switched 12v source. Look at your fuse diagram chart and look for the symbol that looks like -C->+. Those should be fuses for your cigarette outlets. Pull a fuse and find which outlet loses power to verify. That's it! Note, on F-series vehicles, even when you leave and lock your car. The outlet will still have power for about 10ish or below minutes. The car will then fully go to sleep and cut power to your cigarette outlets after.

    They are indeed pretty cool, but the quality is poor, shame on you BMW, I bought the genuine ones at the dealership, installed them on my original style 403 rims and they just don't really sit firm in the rim like they do in the vid, one has fallen of on the driveway after a short drive, an other one wasn't glue'd well so it released the emblem itself, after driving in the summer the caps are so loose you can remove them entirely from the wheel. put the back in the box unfortunately. Love those new g20 rims :)
