Those motors are designed to bounce off the rev limiter. Listen to then at the start of the race or anytime they practice a start. Clearly bouncing off the rev limiter. As for not tucking, he was in last place on the last lap and a half they showed. Now, I'm not condoning his lack of effort. I think a lot of people are missing the point. Its got nothing to do with him revving the engine in the pit lane, it's more, not revving the engine enough during the race. You can see he is not riding the bike to it's full capacity. All around the lap he is short-shifting the gears. On only a couple of times he hits the rev limiter. Basically he's sabotaging the team, and rightly so they have left him out. Any other team out there will think twice about hiring a rider that does that, I don't think he has done himself any favours.

Limiter at MotoGP bikes are different from production bikes. With production bikes, it has big tolerance until it hits the hard limit because they know the bike could be handled by an amateur. But MotoGP bike's limiter is set very close to the hard limit, because you want the rider to make use of every RPM and engineers allow this because the bike is handled by someone who knows the bike very well and someone who is very professional.
