I love the details in this one. Especially the pocket doors. I hate though when people put dropped ceilings into old homes. Usually it's to hide plumbing leaks or other ceiling damage. You could put a kitchen in the 2nd floor and attic space and make a 3 unit condo.
Not always... had dropped ceiling in a 1913 Federal style home and gained a couple feet when took up and found beautiful raised panel ceiling under it. No damage. Just in the 1970's the dropped ceilings to save on high oil cost for heating was common along with adding wood stoves.
I love the homes you show ❤ especially the old ones. I’m from west coast of Florida. I’m curious why so many homes up there, in Maine, have office looking ceiling tiles? Why do folk up there like that look so much? What’s above it? Are the ceilings too high & these office tiles drop the ceilings, to keep it warmer in winter? I would have to rip all that down. I love your channel. Your area is adorable & so lovely. I love Mainers & northern Maine. The coast is beautiful too ❤
I just love this house, but Andy... what's with the ceilings? They look like the ceilings I had in high school back in the 80s. I see them a lot up north, but we don't have them down here in the south. Could you educate me please 🙏
Heating is lower with dropped ceilings. But this home has heat pumps, modern oil hot water boiler and insulated windows so not so hard to heat as originally built.
This close to Canada have to have a bit of an accent but not Downeast Maine right? You are right about this place. Used to be Wright's Lodge and with this kind of space, could be one ideal B&B inn, place to stay for traveling nurses, extended stay, etc.
@@isuzuaxiom9576 Cars in parking lot to the east, behind you or what you see from the deck are Human Services. That lot is empty after five, on weekends too. Great "neighbor" because gone. The church is good neighbor too. No one there most of the week except Sunday morning, maybe a Wednesday night meeting. Surprisingly spacious and just open land, no homes, no buildings, no shadows, no noise but you can walk to downtown in a block.
They extract "heat" from air or "cool" to exhaust heat like AC. New technology makes them cheap to run along with low price Houlton Water Company power utility we are lucky to have.
If this was still available I would grab it! This house is EVERYTHING we are looking for in retirement/business owners in MAINE!!!🎉❤ BEAUTIFUL ❤️
I love the front porch! Such great details in this older home!
Sure is!
That's some old school craftsmanship in the building. Thanks Andy.
Houlton Maine is a treasure chest of well preserved over built victorian homes @larryharry7221 ! Thank you for stopping by and commenting!

1st thought, I love it!
2nd thought, is it haunted?
🤷♀️ I don't know where they come from, it just happens.
Beautiful woodwork
Old style craftsmanship and preserved.

@@AndrewMooersmainerealestate good point. Not always to hide damage. First thing l would do though is look up above and see what's under there.
Another good video love
Meant to say another good video, love seeing those houses in Maine!
Thank you!

How much are utilities? What does the town look like?
To me, it doesn't sound like you have any kind of an accent, but it sounds like you say Gararge. Lots of character in this house.

Wow it could be a multi family home
Sure could!
Thankyou!!!!!!!!
You are welcome @rwally3able !
Just. Curious. Whose cars are that parked next to the house. Is that part of the parking lot for human services? Or is that part of the property?

@@isuzuaxiom9576 Up back yes, human services lower parking lot for employees gone nights, weekends. Low impact neighbor and only 8 to 5 M-F situation.
@@AndrewMooersmainerealestate thank you for taking the time to explain. It is much appreciated.
What is a heat pump? I keep hearing that term on these videos

Is it haunted?
Sorry, nope. Would be worth more if it was right? I used to work at a radio station owned by Stephen King. He has not made a movie here ... yet. 😄
@@AndrewMooersmainerealestate I wish he would make A movie there!
@@219SandPond Will let him know!
@@AndrewMooersmainerealestateAndrew, Thank you. I love Stephen King's work! My favorites are Carrie, Misery, and Salem's Lot.
Boom, just saw this. Now I've got twice the wonder and haven't even scrolled all the way down yet.
