My first visit to Anfield as an American fan! (Liverpool vs Sheffield United, 4/4/24)

- I haven't walked alone since the late 2000s, when Jamie Carragher still backstopped the Liverpool defense, and Pepe Reina patrolled between the pipes.
But I've never been able to make it to Anfield to see the Reds live.
Until now.

Welcome friend, from a Liverpool person who's supported Liverpool since early 60's. The atmosphere at Anfield has always been electric. Nice video.
Thank you!
Saw one of your comments saying it's like a pilgrimage. I couldn't agree more. Been there 5 times from Thailand and every single time I feel like it's my holy grounds. I've been to Old Trafford, Camp Nou, Bernabeau, San Siro, Villa Park, The Hawthornes, Emriates and many more but there's something special about Anfield. You should go on away games as well if you get the chance! It's a great experience as well!
My vlog from Reading @ Bolton was from the Reading away section! I also went on an away day for St. Louis CITY SC in Houston this season (vlog on that) and I plan on going on an away day this month when St. Louis travels to Kansas.
A you'll never walk alone video got me too! It was from the 2019 win over Tottenham. It gave me chills and I immediately knew it was something special
YNWA!
@@SoccerZombieSTLYOULL NEVERRRR WALK ALONEEE!
I watched the full video,I always love Americans who take a liking to football 👍👊
Thank you!
What an awesome environment! The goal celebrations and support are the best! Can’t wait to make this trip some day. YNWA…and also…let’s go St Louis City SC! I’ll cheer extra loud for you at tonight’s match.
Thank you! It'll be 1am when the game starts so I'll try to get a nap in before I watch.
Respect to you, Tom, my friend 😊 I'm glad you got to experience Anfield on a great night for the Reds. When we get going, we can raise the roof. Nothing can beat climbing the steps up to the stand, and the noise of the crowd and the vibrancy of the colours blows you away.
We need a good win against Man U tomorrow and grind the wins in the remaining games, Tom, I can recommend seeing the homecoming parade at the end of the season if they win the league 👍
Wish I could be there in person for that parade! Thanks chimpy!
Welcome to the family ! If, fingers crossed, we finish top at the end of the season try and make the “parade”……. You’ll remember it for the rest of your life😀The relationship between club & supporters is unique❤
🤞
Proper chuffed you got to visit Anfield.
You can call yourself a supporter and not just a fan now - you've set foot in your team's home stadium.
It truly did feel like a pilgrimage in every sense of the word!
Loved it atmosphere at anfield I'm a die hard reds fan up the mighty reds. What a corker of a goal by macca YNWA 👍👍👍👍👍
Macca is the best signing in years! So versatile and reliable in whatever role the Reds ask of him. He had to play deeper because Endo was out and did admirably.
I also became a Liverpool fan when I first heard You’ll Never Walk Alone in 2001 when I first got a satellite dish. Seeing a game at Anfield is at the top of my bucket list. Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. YNWA
Thank you!
Brilliant video Tom! I’m a Liverpool fan too and my first time going to Anfield was on Boxing Day 2018 we beat Newcastle 4-0 that day best day of my life! I haven’t been since but I’m dying to go again! Thanks for making the video and I’m glad you enjoyed your time at the best stadium in the country! YNWA
Thank you! And that's awesome! This will not be my last time at Anfield, especially since I now have a hookup for tickets lol
Welcome to Anfield, my 1st visit was in 1974, I’ve seen ups & downs, travelled in hope more than expectation, this is the end of a golden Klopp era but watch the future with hope in my heart for this wonderful young new team. YNWA
Man citys store is a temporary one as if you noticed the tower cranes at the north stand are constructing a bigger stand, hotel, offices, museums, bigger club shop bars and restaurants etc
Good to know, thanks!
Love your passion - a true Liverpool fan. The passion captured by your vid. Liverpool’s my first love. However, I live too far away to go to their home games: so, I also support my local team, Peterborough United, who are at Wembley today playing Wycombe Wanderers (ko 4.30pm - on Sky Sports - highlights at 11.15pm on ITV). Look forward to seeing your footage of the Bohemians game.
Thank you! A dream come true for me.
Enjoyed your video. Keep enjoying our fabulous team!
@@user-hq7zm3kj9g Thank you! I'll never walk alone!
Supported lfc for over 50 years great to see the rest of the world supporting
Great watch! Hope you enjoyed Anfield and the city.
Absolutely loved it. A true football cathedral. Everything I ever hoped for.
Still makes the hair on back of my neck stand on end love this club till l die ❤ynwa brother red 😅
YNWA
Glad to see you enjoyed your trip to the UK and seeing some good football. YNWA
Thanks 👍
Welcome brother, I’ve supported our great club since the 70’s. My first match was in 1979 and I’ve been in love with the club ever since. Even at my age, I get a lump in my throat when hearing us sing YNWA. A really enjoyable upload and I like your passion for the reds. As we enter a new chapter in our great history, it’s a fantastic time to be a red.
Well said!
Welcome to our city brother ❤
Thank you! Had a great time.
Enjoying your trip over there - getting me juiced up for another European Tour in the future - I'd do a Goodison Park Tour because they are tearing that place down. Enjoy Ireland!!!!
I wish I could have made it over there (I could see it from Anfield clearly) but the timing just didn't work out. :(
i'm so glad that you did that trip. which i can do that some day.
You should!
Great vid mate, glad you enjoyed Anfield, enjoy the rest of your adventure .
Thank you!
Excellent video. Next time you come over do a Blackpool game ( 40 miles north of Liverpool) then a Hartlepool Utd match (north east England))- then you will have done the only 3 Eng!ish teams with Pool in their name.
Gotta complete the 'Pooltrick!
Great video mate. Nice to see you making so much noise.
Thanks Michael! I wouldn't miss the chance to be loud for my Reds!
YNWA now glad you had a great time
What a REAL and AMAZING fan you are. Welcome to Liverpool and I hope you had a great time.
Much love from scouser 🔴
Aw man, thank you! That means a lot coming from a scouser!
So glad you chose the best football club in the world and glad you enjoyed our ground Y N W A 97
YNWA!
I wonder what it cost you. The hospitality ticket. Respect for your determination to go . Love that👍
Good news: it included 5 nights at a nice hotel at a great location so that helps.
Bad news: well...let's just say I had to work a fair bit of overtime at work to pay for it. But a bucket list is a bucket list, so...
Fantastic man! Good on ya 👊
@@SoccerZombieSTL The cost of something special is worth more in memories. In years to come you won't even care about the cost.
Great to see you enjoyed your visit. I sit in the Main stand, and the seating in the newer stands is much better (thanks to regulations), plus the facilities are a tad better too. It doesn’t detract from your experience however, and wherever you sit, you get a wonderful feeling you are supporting a special club. I am now into my 57th year supporting the Reds since a 10 year-old, and I am so glad I chose them. Safe journey home….
Thank you Midlander! Hopefully I can take a game in from there or elsewhere in the stadium at some point!
Welcome to the Liverpool FC family
How lucky to see Liverpool FC under the floodlights a win and Jürgen Klopp's fist pumps
Hope you had a great time in our city and don't be a stranger
YNWA
Had a great time in Liverpool and at Anfield. Truly a dream come true. Can't wait to be back!
That off-key rendering of the "You'll Never Walk Alone" is grim. 😵💫
My music career is in absolute shambles.
Ahh so happy for you!
♥️
Good report my friend. Before the match I was really hoping we would close the gap on Arsenal's goal difference lead but by the time the match finished I was happy with the 3 points to keep us on top of the league.
Couldn't agree more. Should have done more and Liverpool definitely had opportunities for a higher score line (evidence of that in the vlog) but just couldn't convert!
hope you enjoyed that moment! YNWA
I did! YNWA!
Was at this game too!!! I was in the kop at the other end about 1/3 up
Awesome! How were the vibes there? Must have been nervy until Mac's strike.
@@SoccerZombieSTL bit strange think everybody was expecting a 7-0 score!!! Very nervous after Sheffield United scored but Macca’s goal was a great strike. Still a win is a win 8 to go!!
Looks like it's been an epic trip!
One I'll never forget until the day I die!
Your a Real 1 Tom ❤ LFC 6x UCL trophies >>> we are the best club in England overall comfortably A♣️
YNWA!
Hell yeah YNWA buddy 😎
Grandad lived opposite Anfield in the 1930s but he was an Everton season ticket holder …
You missed out on one of the best things on matchdays. Going to the pubs that outside Anfield, The Park, Sandon, Tage and Albert is where you get a taste of the atmosphere. Supporters warm up and sings their hearts out. It is fun and for me the highlight on matchday.
Next time!
Welcome, the stand to your left is the Spion Kop, the fanatical nutters stand. It was much more fun when it was still a standing area. We like to let the visitors score when in front of their own fans, it gives the poor things some hope.
Haha, it's still pretty cool! Hope I can see a match from there someday.
Blades Fan. I've seen the Liverpool greats play against Sheffield United at Anfield when YNWA was bellowed out from the Kop without the aid of the speakers. Bill Shankly was the the manager at the time and his team consisted of the likes of Clemence, Smith, Hughes, Keegan, Highway, Toshack etc.
A very memorable game back in the early 1970s at Bramall Lane - Sheffield Utd verses Liverpool would see Blades legend Tony Currie score an absolute beauty of a goal to level the game and share the points.
Cool story, thanks for sharing. Your Blades played bravely Thursday.
Loving the countdowns.... Your singing mmmmmm :)
Haha thanks.
Ynwa. ❤ hope you enjoyed it 😊
You got me on camera about 9 times, but I was in the main stand and just a blur 😂😂😂. Glad you enjoyed it at heaven on earth!
Haha, if I squint hard enough can I see you?
@@SoccerZombieSTL well I’m 19 stone pure extra weight so possibly 😂😜
Think I’ve got you in a picture too😂😂😂
I'm probably about 19 stone myself! 😂

Hello from a friendly scouser, Glad you enjoyed your time here and i hope you come back again real soon when we lift the Prem trophy 🏆on our last game Vs Wolves
Can't wait!
When is the bohiemians one coming
YNWA ❤
Great watch really know what your talking about
Thank you! That's as big of a compliment as I can get lol.
Proper football ground!
It really is! I loved it.
@@SoccerZombieSTL Glad you enjoyed it mate. Anfield is one of few grounds sitting not too far below Deepdale on the rollcall of 'proper' grounds :)
So true! Thanks!
So cool and first comment and I subbed to you
Welcome aboard!
A yank that knows football. A rare find. Good luck with your channel.
Haha thanks! A big compliment saying I know the game. Its been a part of my life for most of my life but I've only embraced it in the last few years.
@@SoccerZombieSTL good to hear. Also you chose well with your team. YNWA. All the best.
Thanks! YNWA!
Bucket list. YNWA!!!.👍

I’m from America I want I’ve wanted to go for years. You said hospitality ticket. What do you mean? They don’t do like Ticketmaster or anything?
Nope. Clubs control their own sales, second hand sale sites are strongly frowned upon here. For my ticket, I went through Champions Travel, who also did my hotel accomodations.
@@SoccerZombieSTL oh dang okay. Different than what we do here. I mean for American football we have season ticket holders but can still buy tickets elsewhere too yes for a higher rate but. Thanks for the info! Will look into this
I was thinking it's weird that he's watched a game a month on the 4th every time, then I realised he's an American.
You was in Bolton last week claiming to be a Reading fan.
I sympathize with Reading fans for what they've gone through. I did a video on the Reading situation to highlight how insane it is and Reading fans took a liking to it so I wanted to return the favor.
If you knew me or looked through my channel, I've never hid that I'm a Liverpool fan.
Field = pitch 🇬🇧
Chicken tikka with rice and naan, but we’ll let you off!
Any reason why you chose to support a team from thousands of miles away, rather than your local team? Not having a pop, by the way. Just curious.
Definitely a fair question. I do support St. Louis CITY SC, my local team. This TH-cam channel was created originally to make content about them.
Problem is they didn't exist until last year, and a lot of clubs in St. Louis came and went over the years. So I adopted Liverpool as my club. There's even an LFC supporters group here in STL.
15:56 some Irish "fuck offs" always great to hear
You love to hear it!
Similar to many games at Anfield this season. YNWA
YNWA
I think Liverpool are still expanding Anfield. It's a nice ground.
I really, really liked Anfield (though that may be my bias talking). Despite the expansions it still feels like it holds on to the past as well. A mix of modern and classic.
@@SoccerZombieSTL I'm sure I read somewhere that they're looking at putting in a tunnel for the trains at the railway end so they can put in another tier. I'm guessing that's the Cop, you'd know better than me.
Honestly not too sure. I hope they don't redo the Kop too much.
@@SoccerZombieSTL The demand for tickets is huge, it probably won't stop there. It's like every PL Club.
I talked to a couple Liverpool supporters who had been on the waiting list for season tickets for a long time, that we're finally able to get them because they opened up the Anfield Road end.
Love the vid bro. But remember when in Rome. Just saying there's no locker rooms in the uk unless u are going swimming. Changing or dressing rooms
That's fair! Thanks for the clarification.
Anticipating Bohemians v Waterford.
Coming up in about an hour or so! It's currently exporting.
Well...maybe longer. The WiFi at my hotel is pretty awful!
YNWA
Didn’t know you were a red.😮
Years ago when I was young and stood on the kop nearly every one had a scarf above their heads now it’s mobile phones
YNWA gave me goosebumps😂
Now imagine how it felt being there!
@@SoccerZombieSTL Oh do not worry about that. I am Feyenoord 🤣
Haha! I respect that!
@@SoccerZombieSTL Yeah all Liverpool fans respect us
Anfield looks ok but it’s no eco power RTID
😂
Tom please call it FOOTBALL ⚽ and NOT soccer. UP THE REDS 🔴YNWA Sparky 🍻🍻
So called Liverpool fan by the tag line but wearing a Man City scarf only a couple of days ago v Aston Villa,,,,what’s that about 🤔
1. I do like Haaland. 2. I was sitting with other Man City fans and needed to blend in. 😂
Tom YNWA
It’s not called a field in the uk it’s called a pitch, also we say changing room not locker room, plus in the uk its FOOTBALL not SOCCER, as we invented and gave the game its name and gave it to the world
Ok
😂😂😂
Standing at anfield caļing it scoccer, what an american thing😊😅😅😅😅😅
Dont get why a ĝame played mostly with the hands ended up being called americsn foothall isnt it more correct calling it handball with a twist.
It's not the first time that America got something backwards...
Dude your singing sucks but when you’re sing with the crowd at Liverpool who cares. Good video!
Andrea Bocelli I am not! Thanks man!
Welcome yank.ynwa. please.s. do not call it soccer, its football
1. It was called soccer first. 2. I'm American and it's what we call it. Sorry.
Great vid 👍
