      To stay on the floor he has to be good on defense and offense.
      On several games in the series, despite his efforts defensively he got in foul trouble early and Darvin had to sit him early due to him been bad offensively.

But he got his shit together recently, led Germany national team to some success (which we don't have that often!) and has earned his spot on the Lakers. It seems that the lakers have confidence in DLO, Schroder, and reaves handling the ball for most of the game which paves the way for more defensive opportunities for Lebron. Against a warriors team with multiple offensive threats, it’d be huge if Lebron can take a guy out defensively. The Lakers put on a master class on how to utterly destroy a team in game 6. Never saw a team so utterly dominate another team in the playoffs. It wasn't like the Grizzlies were ice cold or the Lakers were red hot or the Lakers just utterly outmatched the Grizzlies with talent. Grizzlies were cold but that was because of the stifling defense that the Lakers put on for three straight quarters until the Grizzlies called it quits on an elimination game for the entire fourth quarter basically. Honestly, they could've called it quits midway through the third. The Lakers used that stifling defense to then fuel their offense and played smart basketball.

    Cmon now, this is what AD looks like when healthy and rested. He can hoop with elite defense, it's really impressive with his size but we forget about that because he get injured more often than not. Active defense by guard on top and scary defense and length by bron/AD on the paint.

    this Lakers team is exciting. defensively they look unbelievable, and when the offense get's rolling, it can really get rolling. honestly their biggest issue is trying to play too much hero ball and run too many iso plays causing them to just stall when the shots don't fall. I know part of that is just comes down to exhaustion, but if they keep up the movement, PnRs, and passing they can cause some real damage this post season.

  • @NikhilAutar
    @NikhilAutar ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I think the fact that the grizzlies are the highest scoring team in the paint, makes this a terrible match up for them.
    The lakers haven't been good defending the 3 ball, so their next match up will be much tougher - 2 movement heavy teams with great 3 point shooting, small ball offences, off ball screens, and who focus on perimeter players
    It's gonna be GREAT to watch

    • @eddie6549

    • @AlienIce
      @AlienIce ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While they certainly have a better three ball whichever team comes out to play the Lakers, they have a weaker interior defense so it really matches up well

    • @kingbradley3402
      @kingbradley3402 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thing is, Kings play in an almost similar fashion with Fox pushing the ball hard to the hole. Sabonis is also much more of an inside player so I think Lakers might have their number.
      Warriors though could blow them out. Depends fully on which versions of Steph and Klay come out each game

    The key being that he stays healthy of course.
    But this guy has been doing it since he was at kentucky. He changes the game on both ends.

    • @nervio2701
      @nervio2701 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      He played more minutes this year than JJJ, seems like this only applies to him given that Gobert also has a dpy on a year he played 56 games, go figure

    • @jjleeeee
      @jjleeeee ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nervio2701 consistancy is the key. JJJ did it consistently throughout his 65 games. AD, if you have been watching hoops has not. flashes, yes. but consistantly? no. What we are seeing now in the playoffs is him elevating his defence. There is a reason why AD wasn't even in the shortlist. it aint a conspiracy if EVERYONE in the basketball world sees and know it. The DPOY award is for the most consistently dominant defense throughout the year, not the most talented. I do agree that gobert has won one too many as i believe a true DPOY should realistically be able to guard 2 through 5.

    • @jaketerpening3284
