“Pitch perfect” is only useful if one confines oneself to Equal Temperament at A=440hz. For any other temperament or pitch standard, it becomes a hurdle to overcome. I remember the frustration of our collegium director trying to get the singers with “perfect pitch” to sing a truly in-tune major third, which is lower than a major third in Equal Temp. The only interval that is truly in tune in Equal Temperament are the octaves; everything else is a compromise.

Among my classmates and professors who suffer from perfect pitch, knowingly transposing on their instruments solves some issues. When preparing to perform on instruments pitched differently, they often practice on digital instruments where they can alter the tuning and pitch to prepare themselves for performances on similar instruments.
Perfect pitch starts as a blessing but often ends as a burden! Away with it . There re so many temperaments and tunings . Relative pitch is safer for peaceful co existence ! Know this and know peace ! Thanks all the same maestro🎉
