Barbara Streisand sang this originally in Broadway. Amongst other singers who covered or sung this song nicole zersinger is one of my faves but morissette made this even more melodic with her remarkable vocal range. I personally didn't like Jennifer Hudson's version of this song. She belted the song even before the climax and that should not be the case. This song should be restrained until the climax when the singer decide to let go already. Morissette did justice to this.

I'm totally surprised when they chose jhud for the role because all I knew about her is belting and yes she did it and almost ruined my mood. Jennifer Hudson is a remarkable singer but she made this song difficult to understand emotionally with those soul belting. No wonder cats the movie did not sell hard.
