I am thinking the same since first time i saw this. Maguire was at a low point in his life and then as captain a new player came and shouted at him.. Onana now receive a karma and a glad to see that
eahh, being a goalkeeper you kind of have to do that. Assertivness and a commanding "hardass" attitude is necessary for the position. No team wants a timid goalkeeper that second guesses themselves, considering how critical being a GK is. Im sure any defender worth their salt expects nothing less, and would rather be yelled at by their GK rather then having to baby them.

I think the main issue is not the mistake he made on the pass, Onana pointed at Maguire saying he needed to track back quicker to mark the player. You can clearly see everyone is sprinting back and Maguire is casually jogging back after 2 Dortmund attempts.

This is the difference. Yes, he’s expensive but that’s what you’re paying for. A good solid keeper, confident in his ability, pushes the team and clearly demonstrates leadership and he’s only been there 5 mins. An excellent buy and well worth the money.
