If you fish rivers where there are good hatches of March Brown or LDO for that matter then I cannot stress enough how well this particular fly does. It can be taken for either hatching insect and when I am unsure of what's coming off I always reach for this first.

Personally, I'd rather be trout fishing but trout season dosent open on my favorite river for 5 more weeks! Albiet, I think a trip across the pond to Rutland is on my bucket list of places to fish in the UK! Thanks for sharing Lindsay! Cheers!

You can do it! You just have to be patient with it pal.
Another winner. Just as practical as the simulator. With a larger window of effectiveness during the season. As the hatch progresses try a Grunter. Jingle hammer. Or Parachute Adams.

My Dad always swore by the old wet fly March Brown. I am rather find of the pattern myself. This is one of the nicest MB patterns I have seen, so I have to tie a few. That squirrel body is brilliant!
I find tying with Roe Deer is easier for doing wings. Roe? Roh? Now I have to look that up. I have enough of it.

Nice one. Agree the Petijean clamp is the best, although the Swiss CDC clamp is good also, but you dont get the table clamp, with them.

Hi Lindsay, when you mention the stripped quill, do you use it just as a rib over the dubbing, or use it on its own? Cheers
Over the dubbing pal, bit of superglue before it goes down
I would make one adaptation to this , I would use maxima tippet for the rib.
