Kate Bush is one of my all-time favorite artist!!! "Moments of Pleasure" by Kate Bush is a masterpiece song that you must hear. This song is flawless!!!
Such is the power and beauty of Kate Bush's songwriting and performance. One of our ( UK) and the world's greatest gifts and artists. Love you Angela, you're so beautiful, body and soul. XXX
That is one of Kates most powerful songs she ever made, every reaction I've seen of this song the reactor has had tears in their eyes, it always hits me hard everytime I listen to it❤
There are only two composers that choke me up. Kate Bush and Tori Amos. This song, and Kates"Moments of Pleasure": and Tori's "Winter" and "China" are my kryptonite.
I, disagree with the word;[pop] to me it denotes a throw away cheap song, through i never meant make less of pop bands that emerge and flourished very successfully in the 80s all had their moment, as well as they should . And i'm sure you never meant to convey that impression, That, said she was in the world of a explosion of ''pop'' culture that took off as well as the traditional classic rock, heavy metal, punk rock so and so on ,the best era of music in all the music genres of the time. she is a singular unique female artist that cannot be compared to any female artist before or since
@genergia My only quibble with your statement. Kate Bush was a "pop" artist. kate Bush was never a POP artist ""Madonna'' was a pop artist for sure. kate bush stood alone in the music industry as a artist she wrote produced did only music arrangements was her doing she was of such talent that pink Floyd David gilmour who was sent a tape was so impressed with her that he 'helped' her have her songs put on tape professionally even attending g the studies at Abbey road where the beatles had there songs produced he was a big inspiration and influenced in her music career
Please don't worry, my wife died of cancer 2 years ago, believe me after 32 years together, you can't help but cry... It's all part of the process they never leave you
Loss or the real threat of losing someone is the single most painful experience in our human existence. This song exposes and examines that part of you and our humanity more than any song I can think of.
Angela, your reaction is wonderful and honest. I appreciate that, you're right, when your partner is ill it breaks you many times. Kate is a national treasure, doesn't jut rule the 80's, she still rules! This is such a powerful song, part of it was used as the background for an advert for a children's abuse charity, it s perfect and even in a short time had people in tears, including me. Keep playing Kate Bush, we'll never get tired of it
I remember the first time I saw Kate's video for this song. I'd seen the movie "She's Having a Baby" and had already cried my eyes out over her beautiful song, but when I saw Kate's video with the re-recorded version, it cut right through my soul like a machete. The end, when she closes the piano, left me unable to inhale for a good 30 seconds.
This song was written/sung by Kate Bush for a specific scene in the movie "She's Having a Baby" It's a comedy, but there is a serious scene when the leading lady is having a baby and the baby is breached.....
This video and song make me tear up every single time. They leave the wife's fate ambiguous, which is even more heartbreaking, and was used effectively in "She's Having a Baby."
For people who know that the song is about a woman in child birth who at risk of her own life and for delivering the baby, it hits even harder as in the line "I know you have a little life in you yet" can refer to both the baby and the suffering mother. The beauty and emotion in Kate's voice just touches me every time i listen to this song.
Kate Bush is a completely unique artist. She's also a dancer. Because you mentioned interpretive you might want to react to her "Running Up That Hill" The official video. Her dance sequence (it's most of the video) is amazing. And it's an 80's song that reentered the charts last year and went to number 1. Thanks for the reaction.
This song was used in the movie She’s having a baby with Kevin Bacon. The scene is similar to the music video in some ways makes me wonder if the scene from the movie was based on this music video or vice versa? Either way, her haunting voice and melody is used very well.
That tense build up at the end with the chorus of screaming Kates at the climax really hit me out of nowhere the first time I ever heard this. Full noise cancelling headphones and everything. Really haunting. Thought that bit might get you.
Last year I had major surgery. I woke up in CCU the next morning. Shortly afterwards I crashed and a team of nurses fought to save me . A few hours later my wife was allowed in to see me. We've been married for 20+yrs and I've always been the strong, capable ex-soldier to her. I saw the look on her face when she walked into the room, it was fear and that was what broke me. That was last year. I've worked hard to regain my fitness and strength. Still that look haunts me.
Lovely heartfelt reaction, Angela. I agree this is a great song. The actor is Tim McInnerny of Notting Hill, Black Adder fame. The album is fantastic too.
Angela: Thank you for not canning this video due to its technical problems. We would have missed such a heartfelt and honest reaction. Kate is Kate. She has such an appeal, even my thrash metal fan son has her albums in his collection. Try and listen to some interviews with her. She's so down to earth.
I’ve always loved Kate's music ever since she released her first album, The Kick Inside, in the late 70s. This song, and especially this video, have always haunted me with its tragic beauty. The first time I happened to hear it after my wife died a few years ago, it absolutely CRUSHED me, and it's been very hard for me to listen to it since without breaking down. Thank you for your thoughtful input. I hope you go on to listen to Kate's music and come to really appreciate her special place in the world of music and the world at large.
Such a beautiful song, sung by an angel. I'm a man but when I see you cry and get tears in your eyes I cry to, I hate to see you sad. I can tell you feel the music and think of past experiences, we all have had.
Kate wrote this in just a few hours 😳 i seen her on a documentary she said it was the quickest song she ever wrote she is pour genius I'm so lucky to have grown up with her music I'm 52 now
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song! We’d love to see more Kate! Songs like Babooshka and Running Up That Hill are still really popular today & Wuthering Heights is probably the most iconic debut single I’ve ever heard! Moments of Pleasure is the most similar to This Womans Work, so if you can emotionally handle another deep piano ballad, there you go haha!
Hi and thanks so much for such a heartfelt reaction video. I am glad that you 'enjoyed' it so much and can well understand why you found it difficult even if it really is beautiful. I do too. There is so much about this song that comes within the description of extraordinary. Kate Bush actually wrote this song upon request. She was approached and asked to write this song for a movie in relation to footage that had already been filmed. And she gave us this wonderful song. She wrote it, plays on it, sings it, produced it, and even directed the video. One Us based journalist recently called this song a: “bravura vocal performance from […] one of the greatest voices and songwriters of the last century” Brandon Flowers from 'The Killers' said of it: “It’s one of the most powerful pieces of music that I’ve encountered, […] It was in [the 1988 John Hughes movie] She’s Having a Baby when I was little, and even then I knew, like, I really like this song. And now that I’m older, it just sticks with me. It’s perfect […] It just affects me." It really is just perfect. I regard it as unbearably perfect, because she wrote it deliberately to tear your heart out, and it does. It tears mine out every single time. There are some other songs on this album by Kate Bush that really ought to be heard: "The Sensual World" taken from the famous novel "Ulysses" by James Joyce "reaching Out" where Kate Bush shows just what a singer she really is "Deeper Understanding" written before the Internet really became a thing but she anticipates the idea of people becoming so isolated that they retreat from the world to their only 'friend' - their computer "Heads We're Dancing", based on a true story of someone inadvertently finding themselves in the company of Oppenheimer who created the atomic bomb, and so Kate Bush set out to try to write a song about unwittingly a monster. She thought about who would be the worst monster to meet and how what would be a disconcerting way to meet him. So she wrote a song about inadvertently meeting and dancing with Hitler at a party. And then there is the magnificent song "Rocket's Tail" where she creates what it might be like to actually be a firework in the middle of a fireworks display - and it is just wonderful. Thanks again for such a touching and enjoyable reaction video.
I'll never forget I'll never forget the way she looks tonight. I'll see you I'll see you when I go to sleep. Hey when I go to sleep I'll show you how I'll be with her😅😅😅😅😅😅
Great reaction. Kate Bush's music and video is so powerful and captures the tragedy that is possible from that moment. Tears. Clearly, you understand completely. Isn't she incredible?
The way that Kate delivers this song/story is just amazing and with the video it is just super powerful. When i am in a relaxed state and i hear this it just makes me cry because its just a perfect song with the perfect voice and it just connects. Its just an perfect emotion bomb thank you so much Kate
Kate Bush has an AMAZING duet with Peter Gabriel called Don't Give Up. and you may have heard her song "Running Up That Hill" in the 4th season of Stranger Things.
I don't have any words! I believe a lot of times men and women feel the same way about certain topics, but men seem to be conditioned, in most cases, to suppress their feelings and emotions! I am of the opinion that everyone should be able to vent when they really need to! I got very sad 😢 and nostalgic while hearing this song, and am not afraid 😟😳 to admit it! 😃 Great reaction, and in case I didn't mention it before, you are my favorite reaction channel! I better 🛑 stop! Bye!
One of the most unique artists of all time. Your reaction says everything about this song. You are right, it's esquisite but I literally cry every time I hear it. I think of my sister who passed away so I can't listen to it too often 💔.
I loved watching your experience. The more the song went on the more you understood what it was about and your heart melted. This songs brings me to tears every single time I hear it. Kate Bush is majestic in her vocals, depth of meaning of her lyrics, dancing and style of her videos. Utterly memorising.
Its one of the greatest pieces of work in her entire catalogue. A true once in a lifetime talent. And one of the most powerful music videos of the last 50 years.
There is an 80s movie called 'She's Having a Baby'. Its a comedy, but this song is played at one of if not the most serious parts. Even if youre not interested in the movie. Its nice to watch that part which takes place near the end.
Such an emotive song. kate is a master of expression, both lyrically and vocally. This is another one of my favourites of hers, it's way too short but so so beautiful th-cam.com/video/TEXjabIgDIg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OkuYZ3uMinHpxXn2
What a review . Well articulated. Amazing words from you. I bought this album when it came out in 89 and no one paid much attention to it . But the whole album moved me incredibly. All the best from Brisbane qld.
These beautiful moments when the song connects with everything that we are feeling, its sublime, in a cathartic kind of way - working through the pain and letting go. You'd need to be a stone to not feel this song's power. Thank you, for the honest reaction.
Totally missed your reactions while the song was playing, have never seen the video before and it grabbed me. I'll be back to this one. Thank you for just being you and sharing it. (And yes, have been in the Hospital scared for someone.)
Check out Kate’s 80’s work . She is such a unique artist that other musical artists in her field say is a major influence on their own work. You won’t be disappointed. I recommend “Babooshka”; “Army Dreamers” and “Sat in your lap”. She absolutely pushed the envelope of musical innovation, 30 years ago!
Kate Bush was truly a trail blazer (musically she was 20yrs ahead of everyone) There’s a Documentary on youtube from BBC (It’s so interesting) without Kate music would be so much different she influenced so many singer/songwriters! 👍👍👍👍
Kate Bush was hired by the director John Hughes fora scene in his movie She's Having A Baby. The movie stars Kevin Bacon and Elizabeth McGovern. The scene is when Kevin Bacon's character is in the waiting room of the hospital where his wife and mother to be Elizabeth McGovern's character is about to give birth but he is informed that she is having a bridged birth, complication that could jeopardize the life of the mother and/or the infant. And while the husband and father to be is waiting in the waiting room he reminisces about all of the good times that they had as a couple and this song plays during his memories. He feelels sad because he wished that he was more of an adult and mature instead of being like a child.
I've known this song for 30 years and it still brings me to tears every time.
In the UK she is loved and admired as a national treasure.
Amazing❤
Kate Bush is one of my all-time favorite artist!!! "Moments of Pleasure" by Kate Bush is a masterpiece song that you must hear. This song is flawless!!!
One of Englands greatest female songwriters and singers. The genius of Kate Bush.
one of the world greatest songwriters and performers! maybe even the universe :)
There is something so unbelievably beautiful about this song. I cry every ending. I can't stop it from happening.
It’s impossible not to be moved by this beautiful song. Kate is a uniquely talented artist. Great, honest review. ❤
I'm a grow-ass 50 year old man and this is the only song that makes me cry.
Have you listened to supermarket flowers? Lost my mother in 2022, supermarket flowers still makes me cry
Me too

The vulnerability, the power, the raw emotion. Pride and love and regret. Kate really delivers the goods.

Kate bush is quite simply the best female singer there is .
Puts modern artists to shame. The crescendo at the end rips your heart out. There's nothing like it

Kate Bush is unique her music speaks for itself she does not need to be a drama queen or create a scandal like many modern day artists.
A contemporary dancers dream song I would imagine.

There are some other songs on this album by Kate Bush that really ought to be heard:
"The Sensual World" taken from the famous novel "Ulysses" by James Joyce
"reaching Out" where Kate Bush shows just what a singer she really is
"Deeper Understanding" written before the Internet really became a thing but she anticipates the idea of people becoming so isolated that they retreat from the world to their only 'friend' - their computer
"Heads We're Dancing", based on a true story of someone inadvertently finding themselves in the company of Oppenheimer who created the atomic bomb, and so Kate Bush set out to try to write a song about unwittingly a monster. She thought about who would be the worst monster to meet and how what would be a disconcerting way to meet him. So she wrote a song about inadvertently meeting and dancing with Hitler at a party.

As someone growing up when she realised her music admire your bravery. Her voice will rip your heart out.
Kate Bush…unique.
Man that was powerful
