A Quince or Quinceanera is a coming of age party done in many countries (Mainly Mexico) when a girl turns 15 usually there is a huge party done. Friends and Family are invited to celebrate the young girl becoming an "adult." To even organize the party you need to find and rent a venue, get a caterer, buy decorations like centerpieces, find a good DJ, make invitations, buy the dress, buy the two tiaras or one, rent a limo (sometimes) etc,etc. Its just a day celebrating YOU. In Mexico it was originally done to sort of to "show-off" your daughter and say she is ready to get married but not anymore. It is an important thing but it is not required to be done, some girls just don't want to have one.
