I love how you weave in history and folklore as you narrate these videos. As somebody who feels very new to exploring our trails with any real intent, I find these videos to be so encouraging. I hope your knee is coming around, Ellie 💛
Another great video Ellie. I have a real thing for pilgrim paths and have walked a couple. You've inspires me to do more. Beautiful, gentle introduction to this trail. Thanks for takin us along
Delighted to hear you enjoyed the video! Yes, there’s something beautiful about walking in the footsteps of others, spanning hundreds of years 👣 There are a few more pilgrim paths around Ireland for me to explore still, I’m really looking forward to seeing what each one brings ☺️ - Ellie
Great video Ellie, it's a beautiful walk. I walked it with Dillon a few years back on a really sunny July day. Your video triggered so many familiar memories. Thanks.
Stunning video. Great views and good hiking weather. We camped on Tonelagee in May, and picked up the St. Kevin’s way on the way back into Glendalough it is absolutely stunning, 14 mins and 15 seconds in the video that same view we had will stay with me for a long time. The full trail looks really good.
Delightful video, very pleased to have discovered this channel. I must walk this route next spring, I think I even saw a likely camp site in this video! Subbed immediately, looking forward to more of these 😊
I think over the course of this trail, I walked somewhere close to 6km extra! But I love getting to do this, it just means I get to explore some of the beautiful areas for even longer ☺ - Ellie
Is there no skinny-dipping in Ireland? (re St Kevin's pool). I loved walking the Kerry Way, and your videos inspired that choice! such nice people everywhere, and a lovely time.
Skinny-dipping was an option, but St. Kevin’s Pool isn’t quite remote enough for me to consider it - two other people arrived not long after me too 😆 And delighted you enjoyed the Kerry Way, it’s such a magical trail! ♥️ - ellie
I honestly would have if I’d had the time - my next trip to Wicklow is in November, we’ll have to see how brave I’m feeling 🤣 And yes I agree, and out and back from the little cottage would be perfect! There’s one more trail down there that I want to do, and I think you could possibly loop together, we shall have to see 😃
Thanks for this video. I was sorry to hear about your knee, which I hope heals soon. Is there any place to camp halfway or so along the way? Or is wild camping entirely forbidden?
Thanks so much Sean - the knee is improving! So I’m hopeful it won’t be too long a recovery 🤞 As for camping - I did see a couple of spots that looked promising. Looking at the OSI Discovery maps, you can see which areas are part of the National Park, which does allow camping if you follow their guidelines and designated areas (eg. No camping within the valley of Glendalough). So while not straight forward, I do think it’s possible!
So, is the trail man Kevin on this trail instead of Elvis? haha My friend and I are coming over in March. We hiked the Appalachian Trail together and I tried to get her to join me on the Irish Way, but she only has 2 or 3 weeks to hike. Love to buy you a pint (Possibly at the Dying Cow, That pub was closed when I hiked the Coast to Coast trail and I swore I would come back and have a pint when it was open!) Your info about the Coast to Coast trail was invaluable when I did it a couple years back so I owe ya.
What a grand wee adventure. Think I'll give you a wee follow, smiler. (Follow on here, mind, not down the trail. I'm not a stalker. Honest injuns, guv.)

And what about the swim, a bit too cold for ya was it? 🤣😂🤣. Lovely looking trail though, out and back from your friends house would be a great run.

Fantastic video. Whats the name of the little cottage you stayed in ?
It’s called An Teachain Beag, they’re on instagram! I’ll add a link to the video description too ☺️
