    That was way simpler than a box blade as far as DIY goes ,that’s what I’ll build when I get back from the gym

    Welp, now i need to build one for work and try to save our high school track. Thanks for the insight.

    That plane looks pretty nice and probably cost significantly less, plus the satisfaction of knowing you built it yourself. I have built a couple custom attachments for my tractor tailored for my place and would like to build a land plane eventually. Thanks for sharing, subd

    Use your hydraulic top link to set that back blade down so the two blades are cutting the same. I would reinforce the top cross rail to the back top rail as well to redistribute the pulling force on the two instead of just the front. Nice job on the build.

    This is the best setup I have seen. You did an amazing job. As soon as I can afford the steal, I will be building one myself. Thx for posting! God Bless.

    I built one for my Skidsteer with big ibeam that I already had. I will build one for my b7800 kubota as well, had an older cutting blade on angle iron like yours BUT bolted to side with slotted holes to adj. The depth of cut. Good job

    Well done, and I'm inspired enough that I'm definitely doing this after the headaches trying to level up a new garden area with a box scraper, dragging the bucket of a front end loader in reverse, and finally going over it with a chain harrow. One of these would have been the ticket after I ripped the sod off. I think my shortcut is going to be using an old, busted brush hog for the frame and the 3 pt. set up is already there.

      Tell me with a scraper bucket you could not level the plot ?

      @@user-pp3fn2cw1i Previet Антон; The problem was that I had built up the area with a lot of mulch that was spongy, and it compressed unevenly. The way the tractor traveled up and down traveling over the uneven ground causes the box scraper to move up and down as well. To complicate things further, my rear hydraulics has a delay in adjusting the box height, which was another issue making it difficult even at very low speed. I could get it done eventually, but it was so aggravatingly tedious that I ended up shutting the tractor down and using a big landscape rake. (haha!) I have some more projects coming up, including leveling off some terraces that were put in over 50 years ago when this property had row crops. The box scrapper has adjustable rippers, so it's quick and handy for most of that. But for the finish work I'm certain the land plane should be the best option.

    Super cool. Love the practicality of using angle bars only until you know if you actually need blades! Question, have you considered adding rippers?

    • @onthegowithmitch
      @onthegowithmitch  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, I haven’t bothered with adding rippers because I have a box blade with them already. I don’t think it would be hard to add them, just use some thick wall 4 inch square tubing on the front and cut slots in it for the teeth to go through. Mitch

    Pretty nice. Do you, by chance, have a materials list? Particularly interested in metal thickness.

    • @onthegowithmitch
      @onthegowithmitch  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t have a list. 1/4 inch thick for most of the material.

    a compact tractor john deere 445 can easily pull a 60" landplane. this kubota should do 92"-96" easy as well.

      really?? hmmm. I have a b2601 but figured anything over 60" box blade would be too much.

    • @onthegowithmitch
