Producer Jon sounds like the stressed dad who could have really done with a lie in this Saturday morning, but has dutifully gotten up to play along with whatever game his kids want to play, so that in years to come they'll have these fond memories 🥲 I'm not crying, you're crying. Also I'm crying.
I mean… look at those faces! Would you want to go to sleep knowing you had caused disappointment to splash across those sweet faces?! I’m not sure how the man lives with himself! xD
Every single time he said 'your friend and mine' I was expecting that... It would have been great to give them 30s for that too (sped up in the edit), because I'd love to see Ellen's drawing of Luke in the same kind of art style as she once drew herself with Pikachu at Disneyland
Mike was robbed. Agree with everything else but Mike's Optimus Prime was definitely the winner despite only being half finished. Also Mike's Sonic was amazing for having been completed in 5 seconds. Look forward to the Mike learning to draw videos on Outside Xbox they will be hilarious.
Mike honestly has some drawing skills. ever since watching those jackbox tshirt design videos, I've realised that mike is scarily good at conveying his thoughts through the visual medium within finite time and resource limitations
There is a single frame of this video that perfectly summarizes the entire challenge, and it is Jon’s **pained noises** caption above Ellen and Mike showing off their charmander “charizards”. Perfect. Poetry in a single image.
great video. special thank you to producer John or Ellen maybe? for adding the most urgent music from each applicable game franchise during the 5 seconds of drawing. excellent edit
I noted that, too, and thought it was very cleverly done! Ellen said she was editing the video, so it was probably her, though Jon's editing is always excellent.
Congratulations Outside Xtra on 200(ish) episodes of Show of the Weekend!! Thank you for nearly 6 years of Ellening, honking sock puppets, Pokémon magazines, choose-your-own adventures, arts and crafts, and always "relevant" and "informative" video game quizzes! You make me smile and laugh every weekend and I can only hope to see you still do this show for another 4 years, so we can celebrate 10 years of normal adults doing absolutely normal things!
Oh no, we thought working out when the 100th episode was was difficult, but now we have all the sotw streams to debate whether they count or not! 😝 Here's to another 100ish episodes!
This was a fun idea, Ellen. The ironic thing is a few videos ago, I mentioned it'd be fun to see Ellen paired up with different members of the Ox teams and low and behold, we've been getting just that. I know they're all friends, but it's fun to see different personalities bounce off each other we normally don't see due to the channel separations.
The best part of the 5 second drawings is that you really don't have time to think at all or take in the drawing as a whole, so what you draw can literally surprise you. Both Mike and Ellen cracking up when they look at what they've just done is wonderful.
I would love a kind of sequel to these drawing videos where the other members of oxbox and oxtra try to guess the characters based only on the two drawings
this was such a joy to watch, nice to see them both drawing for this challenges and i love how producer Jon was so polite in how he asking them what to draw
I really enjoy this type of video because it really lets those involved shine a spotlight on their comedic talents (Producer Jon included), which is great because OxBoxTra is full of my favorite funny people
I think I could say this about any of the oxboxtra lot, but honestly, but I'd also mean it about any of them; what a trio this group makes! This is a wonderful episode. I laughed so much.
Idk about anyone else but when Jon said "Lara Croft" I was thinking "Oh god...how sexualized is this going to be because they have only 5 seconds" but to my pleasant surprise, neither of them did that. Pure minds at Outside! :)
Gonna make a very nerdy distinction here.. Ganondorf is his human form. The pig monster Mike was going for was Ganon.. and having watched a little more they did put up a pic with *in his Ganon form* caption soo... withdrawn😅
Ellen drew a generic transformer while Mike drew Optimus Prime. If you had to guess which transformer they had drawn you'd have a decent chance of getting it right for Mike's, while Ellen's would just be pure luck.
Producer Jon sounds like the stressed dad who could have really done with a lie in this Saturday morning, but has dutifully gotten up to play along with whatever game his kids want to play, so that in years to come they'll have these fond memories 🥲 I'm not crying, you're crying. Also I'm crying.
I've been rewatching a lot of older videos from both channels since everything has gone to hell and this one is great for the sheer ridiculousness of it. I needed this fun right now so thank you lot for being fun for so long
Joke's on you Jon, Luke famously doesn't watch any of these videos as we know from past quizzes 😁 So you'll have to slide Ellen's Paddington Bear under his office door if you want to torture him with it... I know you don't have individual offices, so just slide it under the door when he's on the loo, that might even work better.
No spoilers, but I have to respectfully disagree with Producer Jon on the last decision. I think it should have gone the other way, but it is what it is.
This should be in more Show of the Weekend episodes, if only for the absolute belly laughs that it causes in the participants. Also, Mike somehow has Big Dad Energy and Older Sibling energy all in one, and I wouldn't want him any other way
In all fairness, a purple sharpie stick figure is 84% of the way there for Waluigi. If Ellen had 5 or 10 more seconds to define the hat and crinkly moustache, that could walu-easily be a mirror image of the original concept art
Really looking forward to the Mike learns to draw episodes, if he can already do sonic that well in 5 seconds it will be interesting to see what he can do
I'd love to see the Oxboxtra crew play Gartic Phone or one of the drawing games from Jackbox. I'd also absolutely love to see an Oxboxtra and Drawfee crossover.
I enjoyed watching this here on Saturday morning, great way to kick off the weekend for us across the pond, lol. Those drawings were all better than anything I would've done 😂
i don't know what a KK Slider is supposed to be and the drawings surprisingly didn't help either. also: i really need a 10hr nonstop audio stream of ellen's laughter. love u ellen :*
1-Roadrunner vs Sonic's Wanted poster 2-French stickman (cue the beret) vs beheaded Pinocchio's head 3-Baby Godzilla vs Quilava (or a weird Llama Kuzco with a weird puffy tail, dunno) 4-Pigtail girl with a wooden club vs Lady Potato monster with a chainsaw 5-Sticklady Lara Croft vs stickman Nathan Drake 6-Astrobot vs Who the hell is Clank ? 7-Little Nightmares Cuphead vs Chibi fairy Cuphead 8-Reynard the Fox vs Death Door's crows, or maybe a chibi plague doctor - And I agree with Make, the tunic is more important than the sword ! 9-Tanuki eared Goomba (or Galoomba even ?) vs SuperCow from Tribal Hunter 10-Kekeflipnote's goose vs ugly duckling, but with webbed feet and wings ! 11-Abstract James Potter vs Andross wearing a wig 12-Donut (or dolmen) Bot from Futurama vs Monthy Python's Black Knight 'Tis but a heart getting ripped out 13-Scarecrow holding a hammer and a handbag vs Paddigton's bust 14-Minecraft Slenderman on rollerskates vs Optimus Prime wearing a square bob wig and having Lara Croft's personality Thanks for all the laughs :D
Holy goose grenades goslings! I just realized that 100% completing the untitled goose game gives you a crown, and I assume - a title! Wild. He’s now a titled goose, rather than just an entitled one.
Yeah seriously.. If we use the same logic as the other drawing "show these to a kid and see which one they prefer" they'll all recognize Optimus in Mike's drawing.. Ellen's is just a generic blocky robot. Heck, even knowing it's supposed to be Optimus, it still looks like a blocky mess.
Ellen just blew my mind with her comment about Tunic being a pun on tuning forks. I've played a bit of that game and never made that connection! I need to up my pun game.
The real winer for me is the fact that Mike hates that the name of the game Tunic is a pun X'D But for real, I'm stunned how good you two are with speed drawing. As some kind of maybe someday wanna-be artist I have nothing but respect for this :3
Thank you for saying it, Ellen. Laura Croft does not exist (no apologies to any non-fictional entity actually named Laura Croft; them's the breaks). I'm surprised either of them managed to make this work at all. Takes me 5 seconds just to retrieve an image from memory.
Producer John sounds like the stressed dad who doesn't want to tell his kids that one's drawing is worse than the others
Producer Jon sounds like the stressed dad who could have really done with a lie in this Saturday morning, but has dutifully gotten up to play along with whatever game his kids want to play, so that in years to come they'll have these fond memories 🥲
I'm not crying, you're crying. Also I'm crying.
Yeah exactly lol
I mean… look at those faces! Would you want to go to sleep knowing you had caused disappointment to splash across those sweet faces?! I’m not sure how the man lives with himself! xD
Lol
Not even done watching yet, but gotta immediately mention how good Mike's sonic was!
You should've seen his Charizard!
It reminded me of the box art for S&K
Ellen's drawing was more evocative of Tails, at least to me
That was really good.
Very strong start wasn't it?
It's a special brand of chaos when there's the rare Ellen/Mike combo.
I was really hoping for the last one John would ask them to draw “your friend and mine… Luke Westaway!”
Would have loved to see how they draw their friend.
same
Every single time he said 'your friend and mine' I was expecting that... It would have been great to give them 30s for that too (sped up in the edit), because I'd love to see Ellen's drawing of Luke in the same kind of art style as she once drew herself with Pikachu at Disneyland
Where is Luke anyway? Have they said?
New secret Christmas challenge question? 👀
I firmly believe Mike was robbed over Optimus Prime
I hate that this comment is so far down
Same!
Jon always has a soft spot for Ellen. Its like Andy with Jane. Mike was indeed robbed.
Agreed
Mike was robbed. Agree with everything else but Mike's Optimus Prime was definitely the winner despite only being half finished. Also Mike's Sonic was amazing for having been completed in 5 seconds. Look forward to the Mike learning to draw videos on Outside Xbox they will be hilarious.
I have to confess I was waiting for the “Sorry, trick question, you’ve both drawn GANON; I asked for GANONDORF.”
Right?!
Mike honestly has some drawing skills. ever since watching those jackbox tshirt design videos, I've realised that mike is scarily good at conveying his thoughts through the visual medium within finite time and resource limitations
Seriously, that Cuphead was adorable, and I'd be proud if I could pull off a Paddington Bear that cleanly that quickly.
There is a single frame of this video that perfectly summarizes the entire challenge, and it is Jon’s **pained noises** caption above Ellen and Mike showing off their charmander “charizards”.
Perfect. Poetry in a single image.
Jon: Draw a charmander
Mike: *draws Quilava*
I always love the immediate burst of laughter when the time runs out in a "oh god what have I done?"
Mike cracking himself up is adorable.
The number of times Ellen nearly died laughing at her own drawing is priceless
Priceless and adorable
great video. special thank you to producer John or Ellen maybe? for adding the most urgent music from each applicable game franchise during the 5 seconds of drawing. excellent edit
I noted that, too, and thought it was very cleverly done! Ellen said she was editing the video, so it was probably her, though Jon's editing is always excellent.
Producer John's semi-bashful explanation for why he ran out of video game characters was classic 😂
P.S. Mike's cuphead was adorable!
Congratulations Outside Xtra on 200(ish) episodes of Show of the Weekend!! Oh no, we thought working out when the 100th episode was was difficult, but now we have all the sotw streams to debate whether they count or not! 😝 Here's to another 100ish episodes!
Love these. Also Ellen accidentally drew the perfect face of a Goomba with the Ganondorf drawing.
I love how quickly Jon's voice goes to regret and despair
Well he is the main dad figure to the gang and all of them can be typical kids 😂🤣😂🤣
It's very clear from the start which of them spent their formative years drawing Sonic fan-art
"The Untitled Goose" sounds like a Dark Souls boss
Everything about this was joyful and utterly delightful. Like a freshly baked biscuit.
Ellens drawing of ganondorf looks like the pokemon Snubbull. Also love how ellen and mike were making themselves giggle like mad.
Outside Xtra is definitely my comfort watching on a Saturday morning ❤ a delightfully chill way to start a weekend
I once saw someone comment on a Show of the Weekend, "SOTWE is the dark souls bonfire of the soul", and every time I think of that it makes me tear up
I live for Tired Dad Mike Energy
The best part of the 5 second drawings is that you really don't have time to think at all or take in the drawing as a whole, so what you draw can literally surprise you. Both Mike and Ellen cracking up when they look at what they've just done is wonderful.
I would love a kind of sequel to these drawing videos where the other members of oxbox and oxtra try to guess the characters based only on the two drawings
I love Ellen and Mike's whole dynamic together, Mike comes off as her goofy big brother and they genuinely always seem to have a lot of fun together
I've always thought of them as the cousins who don't hang out often but when they do it's chaos.
Yeah, it is scary to me that both Luke and Mike, arguably the most chaotic of the Oxbox gang, are actual Dads...
this was such a joy to watch, nice to see them both drawing for this challenges and i love how producer Jon was so polite in how he asking them what to draw
See's thumbnail, Ellen's classic evil Smirk and Mike laughing. Well this is going to be a good one.😂
I agree. Also, Mikes cuphead reminded me of stewie Griffin out of family guy.
Remember kids: Everything - including art - is a COMPETITION.
But in this case at least it's wildly entertaining!
Mike got the Moral Victory, as far as I'm concerned. His Optimus was just a school photo - cuts off at the chest!
I like how quickly Mike tried to cover up K.K. Slider's 'guitar'.
Its okay to show that, Mike. It is Art after all!
It’s only art if it’s got an urn in it. Or a fig-leaf.
Ellen's "Cuphead" looks like Tim Burton imagined Little Nightmares, and Salad Fingers had a baby.
*imagines that mental imagine*
*opens google*
*"How to self-lobotimise"*
Ellen's Sonic is actually a really good drawing of The Road Runner
that's what I was thinking. :D
Mike won in the tiebreaker. Seriously, my drawing would have looked like Ellen's, but Mike won because his is recognizable as a Transformer. :(
I think the Paddington Bear drawing proves that they have the artistic skill to utilize additional 5 seconds effectively
Idk about anyone else but when Jon said "Lara Croft" I was thinking "Oh god...how sexualized is this going to be because they have only 5 seconds" but to my pleasant surprise, neither of them did that. Pure minds at Outside! :)
It’s all about the double guns
I really liked Mike’s tunic drawing, I’d get that on a t-shirt
It looked more like one of the spies from spy vs spy than a fox though :p
@@stone5against1 Now that's showing our age.
@@VonBlade Hahaha yeah definitely not getting any younger 😋
this is amazing, very fun drawings
any time y'all break out the clipboards to draw is a treat
Gonna make a very nerdy distinction here.. Ganondorf is his human form. The pig monster Mike was going for was Ganon.. and having watched a little more they did put up a pic with *in his Ganon form* caption soo... withdrawn😅
this was amazing, the theme music behind each of the five seconds is ingenious. and I love everyone acting like children it's perfect
Ellen drew a generic transformer while Mike drew Optimus Prime. If you had to guess which transformer they had drawn you'd have a decent chance of getting it right for Mike's, while Ellen's would just be pure luck.
That's an amazing Sonic drawing for 5 seconds, Mike. Instantly recognizable. Also, points for the fire on the tail.
Producer Jon sounds like the stressed dad who could have really done with a lie in this Saturday morning, but has dutifully gotten up to play along with whatever game his kids want to play, so that in years to come they'll have these fond memories 🥲
I'm not crying, you're crying. Also I'm crying.
They film ahead of time, so hopefully he did get that much needed lie in 😊
@@Amaranthyne I know, it was just for the mental image
@@alexharrison2743 Whatever floats your boat.
I love it when we get a Mike/Ellen dynamic duo. They've got such a hilarious and great dynamic :D
This show really makes my Saturday! When are we having the king Arthur choose your own adventure back?
I've been rewatching a lot of older videos from both channels since everything has gone to hell and this one is great for the sheer ridiculousness of it. I needed this fun right now so thank you lot for being fun for so long
Joke's on you Jon, Luke famously doesn't watch any of these videos as we know from past quizzes 😁 So you'll have to slide Ellen's Paddington Bear under his office door if you want to torture him with it...

I just had the greatest idea: MAKE Luke watch this, and make it into a reaction video.
@@sourcererseven3858 great idea!
Why do I love it so much when Ellen makes little character/creature noises?
The little giggle after every drawing really sells it!
Mike is an absolute hype man, he was complimenting Ellen’s art every time.
No spoilers, but I have to respectfully disagree with Producer Jon on the last decision. I think it should have gone the other way, but it is what it is.
Love Mike and Ellen together
Agreed, Mike has that chaotic older brother who teases his little sister but always apologises after energy 😂
Well these are just the best parts of the whole ox crew altogether. You got Mike, Ellen, Producer Jon. Pure chaos and laughter all around.
Jon: popular character...
Me: Charmy Bee :)
This was so simple and wonderful. A joyful Monday morning watch for me 😊
Always fun to see Mike on Show of the Weekend. :)
This is such a fun kind of video to watch ^-^ also the ACCIDENTAL PUN WAS HILARIOUS
This is my favorite video you guys have made this year! I love the pure joy and laughter. 😅 Thanks for all the entertainment, y'all!!!
They're so serious for those 5 seconds and then as soon as they see what they've drawn when it's over, chaos and giggling descends and I'm here for it
This should be in more Show of the Weekend episodes, if only for the absolute belly laughs that it causes in the participants.
Also, Mike somehow has Big Dad Energy and Older Sibling energy all in one, and I wouldn't want him any other way
Ellen's sonic was a perfect roadrunner.
I thought it looked like Tails
The unexpected Weebl and Bob reference, you love to see it
In all fairness, a purple sharpie stick figure is 84% of the way there for Waluigi. If Ellen had 5 or 10 more seconds to define the hat and crinkly moustache, that could walu-easily be a mirror image of the original concept art
I haven't watched one of these in probably 2 years, but I'm so glad you haven't changed a bit! You even have the silly old theme song that I love haha
Really looking forward to the Mike learns to draw episodes, if he can already do sonic that well in 5 seconds it will be interesting to see what he can do
Mike was ROBBED for Optimus Prime, if there is one thing iconic about Optimus Prime its his helmeted face, its literally his logo
Always fun! Some of those were genuinely impressive for 5 seconds.
For some bonus nostalgia Ellen's Cup head looked like Salad fingers and Ganondorf looked like Binky from Hey Arthur
Yes! My first thought was Salad Fingers too
The last one was absolutely robbed from Mike!
We demand a rematch!
That was an excellent Sonic for only 5 seconds, Mike must've absorbed the image after all the times Sonic has been drawn in the Jackbox games.
I'd love to see the Oxboxtra crew play Gartic Phone or one of the drawing games from Jackbox.
I'd also absolutely love to see an Oxboxtra and Drawfee crossover.
Jon is a far more fair judge than Andy is for the Xmas Challenges. I vote Jon for judge for all future drawing contests.
I want to see Jon participate in all future drawing contests.
According to Luke KK Slider is the greatest musical talent to have ever graced this earth.
I've allways been a big fan of Mike laughing, so this one makes me happy!!!
1-Roadrunner vs Sonic's Wanted poster
2-French stickman (cue the beret) vs beheaded Pinocchio's head
3-Baby Godzilla vs Quilava (or a weird Llama Kuzco with a weird puffy tail, dunno)
4-Pigtail girl with a wooden club vs Lady Potato monster with a chainsaw
5-Sticklady Lara Croft vs stickman Nathan Drake
6-Astrobot vs Who the hell is Clank ?
7-Little Nightmares Cuphead vs Chibi fairy Cuphead
8-Reynard the Fox vs Death Door's crows, or maybe a chibi plague doctor - And I agree with Make, the tunic is more important than the sword !
9-Tanuki eared Goomba (or Galoomba even ?) vs SuperCow from Tribal Hunter
10-Kekeflipnote's goose vs ugly duckling, but with webbed feet and wings !
11-Abstract James Potter vs Andross wearing a wig
12-Donut (or dolmen) Bot from Futurama vs Monthy Python's Black Knight 'Tis but a heart getting ripped out
13-Scarecrow holding a hammer and a handbag vs Paddigton's bust
14-Minecraft Slenderman on rollerskates vs Optimus Prime wearing a square bob wig and having Lara Croft's personality
Thanks for all the laughs :D
Loving the Weebl's Stuff callbacks! That's some cracking British internet right there!
It's always great hearing Ellen's laughter
3:07 that laugh sounded so much like Nathan Yaffe’s, which is fitting since this is a drawing challenge
I really appreciate the editing in this for including relevant theme music for each drawing. Except the Sonic music. That was evil :P
we need a 5-second art challenge episode for each member
Winner stays on?
Ellen’s Cuphead.....the stuff of nightmares.
Mike’s giggle....best thing on earth.
Producer Jon.....my absolute favorite.
😍😍😍😍😍
Loved this one! Shipping more 5 second drawing challenges
Great video, love Ellen, cool seeing Mike on here
I love Mike's cackle. Can't help but cackle along 😆
Holy goose grenades goslings! I just realized that 100% completing the untitled goose game gives you a crown, and I assume - a title! Wild. He’s now a titled goose, rather than just an entitled one.
This was very entertaining to watch, the hilarious drawings and the bursts of laughter which made me laugh too
Yay! My regularly scheduled humors.
Mike was robbed on that last one.
Super weird caring about the entire body here when it didn't matter for the other ones.
Ellen just blew my mind with her comment about Tunic being a pun on tuning forks. I've played a bit of that game and never made that connection! I need to up my pun game.
I especially like the way they felt the need to justify themselves each time.
The real winer for me is the fact that Mike hates that the name of the game Tunic is a pun X'D
But for real, I'm stunned how good you two are with speed drawing. As some kind of maybe someday wanna-be artist I have nothing but respect for this :3
Yet another gallery of beautiful art!
Thank you for saying it, Ellen. Laura Croft does not exist (no apologies to any non-fictional entity actually named Laura Croft; them's the breaks).
I'm surprised either of them managed to make this work at all. Takes me 5 seconds just to retrieve an image from memory.
Mike in shorts alert! This is not a drill, Mike is in shorts!
Well it was likely still unusually hot down in London on the day of filming
mikes excellent start with sonic ruined by kk sliders... "instrument"
