Last season Rodrygo and Vini would both be on the LW to help Vini with defenders overloading him. So it shouldn't be a problem
Mbappe needs the ball to dribble from the flanks. He has NEVER played pure striker role where he needed to be the target man stretching the defense and making off-ball runs. With this strike role, he cant drift towards the wing anymore and learn to play like haaland, kane, or lewandowski.

Dribbling on the wing and playmaking is his best attribute. If mbappe takes some of this away it will make both Vini and Rodrygo less effective and now they all gotta worry about being out of position. This is why mbappe has to play like a striker and develop striker instincts like benzema, kane or lewandowski. Not drifting in the wings and using space in the MIDDLE to continue letting vini and rodrygo shine. Winning takes sacrifice and it's up to Mbappe to try to fit in because Real Madrid won without him.

But today, both Vini and Rodrigo are very successful in that position. So Real did not actually need Mbappe. This transfer is just a show of power. He had Vini and Rodrygo, even Bellingham too at times, all intersect and swap sides/positions at times during a game. He even had moments in the Champions League where Vini and Rodrygo overloaded the left and Bellingham ran through the middle with Valverde or Carvajal covering the right.
Adding Mbappe makes this approach better because Jude can continue being a midfielder while Kylian, Vini, and Rodrygo can play more fluid with their positioning. I am sure Mbappe will be tasked with staying more central, however it isn't impossible to imagine him swinging outside and Vini cutting in on a run. Or both of them outside a bit toward the left while Rodrygo runs into the middle.
I don't get why everyone thinks Rodrygo is gonna be benched just because Mbappe is there? Kroos leaving just helps the midfield situation settle down to a 3 man triangle like it used to be. Tchouameni or Camavinga holding with Bellingham creating and Valverde working hard.
We played a 4 man mid because we didn't have a center forward. Mbappe might prefer being a winger but you can't expect Carlo to play him there when we have Vini and Rodrygo.

U play 4-2-3-1 with toomuchmoney and Valverde as cdm and u play Bellingham Cam vini LW mbappe ST rodygo RW and they can switch during game, or u play the classic 4-3-3 toomuchmoney Valverde and Bellingham mid and those 3 on top. The best thing to happen to the mid was sadly Kroos retiring, so now we know who's the midfield even though kroos will be missed a lot with him controlling the game.
