Hey Biffa, just wanted to say I love the attention to detail you put into this spot and a lot of other spots in this city. I've noticed you're getting a lot better at it. Sometimes it bugged me in the past when you rushed areas and left some things unfinished. While I could understand the need to do this from time to time to make videos faster and more live feeling, I like that you spend the full time here to perfect things and just speed it up when necessary to show your whole designing process. This city is starting to look really great, maybe your best yet. Also thanks for finally fixing that roundabout properly lol.
It depends what program he uses to record. Some you'd have to set the game mouse to show up instead of the mouse on your desktop since most people record in windowed mode.
That new roundabout on the corner needs fixing. It only lets cars go around one way which is weird AND there are no trees in the middle. Poor asset design if you ask me.
How I handle trains: City train lines never share tracks with intercity trains. Intercity trains get one or two dedicated bays at the central stations. Fright trains operate on single direction balloon loops. I often use single direction double tracks to increase space. I also increase space by building “median lines”, that is, rail and metro lines that travel between traffic lanes on a highway (common with newer built lines here in the US, especially in San Francisco, Chicago and DC. There is a video on TH-cam of a steam locomotive on a mainline version of this in Los Angeles.) I also tend to ensure each track at a terminal station is assigned to only one line.
Your train stack fix helped me out. My problem was outside from buyed landscapes. Some train junctions stuck with trains to each other. Your mod list gave me an idea of how I can solve this problem. And yes! I have done it and the problem is solved!
I haven't had a chance to watch any TeaVille in a while. I died laughing when you "fixed" that dreaded roundabout. Seems like its still giving you a bit of a headache. 😂😂
Looks interesting. Have learned a ton watching your videos. Finally got a city up to 200k with 83% traffic when before once I got to 60K things would grind to a halt. Wish I had found your videos before my wife passed away though. We used to sit side by side playing the game just messing around with stuff for hours but both always had the same issues with traffic. Looks like your GPU may not like the 4K though, seems like things are skipping around when the camera is doing a pan at times. I still need to upgrade my cpu to a Ryzen 3000 series but the 1600 running at 4125 Mhz seems to handle it all ok. It's a lot better than the fx 8350 I was running.
I have had the trains backing up on my vanilla map, so its not just the specific map. I believe it is down to a train spawning in the exiting train's way, which blocks it from leaving. my fix was to create a separate exit and enter with one-way track. you do need a mod to disable edge fog, a mod to allow you to create new outside connections, and a mod that lets you build outside of city limits, its a bit janky but it works
Have done basically the same with mine and started making all intersections for trains with a large interchange so they flow through better. It's something about how the game decides where they are able to come in and out and the crossover that is there. Any train that spawns on one side wants to return even though it is coming back on a different track and will cross over to do it even though it all runs to the same point and should not be needed.
7:00 If that area gets busy, that roundabout is going to get clogged up really quickly: it's waaaaaaaay to close to the road. There's no place to queue, and cars coming off the roundabout will need to wait to give way (but have little space to do so).

I think you can improve the train junction design by using one way railroads. That way trains that are going straigh never have to give way to any trains that need to cut cross. Actually it seems that the junction that you used should have one way railroads instead.
i remember in Transport Tycoon, i had too much trouble with trains backing out of their terminal, it got alot more benefitial to have terminals be 1 way, in 1 side and out the other side.. it takes more space, but it will look better too..

Just out of curiosity: Is it possible to change the number of buses that run based around events? Similar to how cities with some sort of tram, like Buffalo NY's tram and Detroit MI's monorail, have a stop along their lines at the arena that is only used when there's a game going on.

Ya I got that problem with inter city trains too. They always use the same platform in a station as a existing train lines you created. They never use a platform on their own, even if it's in the same station and free.
What you really need to do is have the intercity line completely separate from the local lines. A dedicated intercity line will stop any crossovers and traffic jams developing with local train traffic. They can run alongside each other just don't link them. This is how a lot railways are set up around the UK too, with dedicated fast lines and slow lines. Use the main terminal as the only place people coming from out of town can switch to a local line train rather than relying on the 'no intercity trains' option at the local stations.

I've been using the same map and sw when I turned off despawning the trains got all caught up. Came up with almost the same fix you done :) That said I may have to submit it for a traffic fix as I have one area I am REALLY struggling with and have an awful roundabout system that seems to be causing it. With the multiplatform stations I usually hook up one or two lines to the outside connections completely separate from my internal lines. I also usually don't split my internal lines into two right at the station, but I don't know if that's beneficial or not. Also, is it common to have courts/fields right next to a stadium overseas? I ask because this is the second time I've seen a CS player do that, and I have never once seen it done here in the states. Wondering if it's some kind of cultural thing or not.

You know with those parking roads you can do underground parking. And actually have cars drive in and out of them. A big parking below the stadium would have made sense. And you would save the above ground space for more shops=more need to park.
Heads up, one of the DLC or default maps in game have this same exact problem. Not sure about others, but I am on the map with all the rivers going here and there. So be careful and prepare yourself XD

Biffa, big questions. 1) The Move-it mod. I've checked it out but some of the other "required" mods to make it work are old or not updated to be compatible with newer DLCs. What's your recommendation on that. 2) The other is I've seen a few Anarchy Mods but on the mods list some say old etc. Which ones do you use yourself? 3) Which mods/roads work to build parking lots? Or least that you use. Also which are zone-able? Are or is there a parking lot that can zone on? Wish could build Shopping parks/plazas like see many times here in the USA. Honestly to avoid traffic jams never build train roundabouts or intersect small. Caused modded trains are super long. Vainilla curves gonna create train jams
Two things: 1. Not sound harsh or anything, but you keep making the roundabouts two way. I'm not really sure where in the world those exist 2. You have a lot of "unnamed" districts out there, like you asked for name suggestions for a lot of districts going some time back. When will this be going down? :D But when all of your if said! Is the weird tree thing coming out of buildings an Anarchy Mod or Move It Mod side effect?
Honestly to avoid traffic jams never build train roundabouts or intersect small. Caused modded trains are super long. Vainilla curves gonna create train jams
does the node movement fix off map stations getting too full or will they still jam up if you export too many goods

Two things:
1. Not sound harsh or anything, but you keep making the roundabouts two way. I'm not really sure where in the world those exist
2. You have a lot of "unnamed" districts out there, like you asked for name suggestions for a lot of districts going some time back. When will this be going down? :D

Trains are my current issue, I even completely redid everything and made an intercity exchange but there's just WAY too many.
Biffa, you should make a the river bank into a beach and you could put a waterfront board walk or something :)
