Dear Sally, sending you love from Poland💚 my grandmother was in rabensbruck and she survived. She was very traumatized which affected the following generations. I wish I could hug you
And @1:20:00 and beyond she talks about finding the bitterness in the Nazi soldier and what she asked him brought him to tears, because she had no fear over consequence in engaging humanity.
The interviewer... damn. Let this hero tell her story in her own way, in her own time. I feel so bad this survivor was stuck with someone so difficult for her testimony. As if the memory wouldn’t be hard enough to relive as it is.. I’m just glad this brave woman lived through everything she went through to tell her story with such confidence and strength nonetheless
Lollipop Gumdrop this interviewer interrupts this sweet woman with too many irrelevant questions! A lot of the interviewers just sit back quietly and allow the survivor to tell their story. This interviewer, not so much!!
An exceptional woman and an exceptional testimony. A word also in defence of the interviewer. In contrast to many other interviewers, she certainly knows what she is talking about and also knows her subject personally. Note also that this is one of the few testimonies where the questoin of the moral standing of the members of the Judenrat (and for that matter that of "Poles" also) is talked about seriously. I would rather thank both of them.
This survivor, Sally, gave great testimony of her experiences during the Holocaust. Bless you and your family. In contrast to others, I found the vast majority of her questions useful, such as were the Jewish leaders in baracks sadistic or protecting the women. That was a very important point. I respect your experience of the interview. That wasn't my experience. So, thank you also to the interviewer. Most of all, thank you to Mrs Marco.
Ive watched hundreds of these wonderful spoken testimonies, but this one was marred by the interrupting interviewer. She repeatedly jarred the survivor out of her memory stream with context questions that were not suited to the purpose of this particular testimony. At times she seemed to challenge the survivor's memory or perception and that is not her job.
She constantly tried to rewrite her story from her own perception of the events when she wasnt there it was very frustrating, I think the interviewer didnt quite understand how little the jewish prisoners knew about what was actually happening and the fear and anguish they must have felt
SOUND IS VERY GOOD ...NOT LIKE MOST of the other video's. In most of these interviews the audio is almost to a whisper not only with the person giving the their testimony but the person giving the interview also making it impossible to want to continue listening. SHOAH FOUNDATION PLEAE TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE.IF ONE CANNOT HEAR THE INTERVIEW then people will just move on to one that can be heard. Thank you
The interviewer kept interrupting with non relevant questions that caused the survivor to stop her thoughts and stories midstream; it was very frustrating because the survivor had so much to say but again and again the interviewer kept interupting
This is one of the worst interviewers. You were not there. Let the survivor tell their story. Stop interrupting. I found her testimony of great interest and detail. The interviewer really denied her the telling of her story in her own words.
It was interesting to listen to Sally when she had the chance to speak but I almost could not finish listening due to this awful interviewer. So often when Sally was in the middle of recounting something interesting, the interviewer interrupted with unconnected questions. Sally deserved better than this. I didn't find this interview respectful at all.
The interviewer is incredibly frustrating, i understand she is trying to clarify what the lady means but the way she sometimes tried to write her own version of the story is so annoying. The lady is telling her story how she saw it through her own eyes as a 16 year old girl, but she was constantly interrupted asking how old people were and where they were from, those facts dont tell the story she stated if they were younger or older thats enough information, let the woman recall what i can imagine are buried painful memories and tell her story.
Terrible terrible interviewer! This interviewer has done this to every person she has interviewed. She even tried to correct the lady by disputing the language the people were speaking! I think she thought her name was going to be the new Barbara Walters! It wasn’t! But finally we got the story of this wonderful wonderful survival.
This interviewer thrusts herself forward too much and tries to dominate the whole interview. She is so annoying. Why can't she just shut up and take a backseat?
Great testimony; crappy interviewer. One of the worst I've ever heard. Why someone would select an inexperienced, interrupting, shrew for an interviewer - is beyond me. Let the survivor speak - it is her RIGHT to share what's in her heart and how she experienced the war. Not the interviewer.
It would be amazing if the interviewers name was in the discrimination. Not for hate. Just so I can skip the people who keep interrupting these amazing people.
The editing of this video is awful. And the interviewer is rude and inconsiderate. She interrupts Sally constantly. Challenging Sally’s account of events when Sally is the one who lived them. The interviewer even try to correct Sally on some points of her story. Asking pointless questions. So annoying. Where do they get these people? Surely the Shoah Foundation can afford better! 😡
The interviewer sucked big time. Interrupting and confronting the survivor. I saw maybe close to over a hundred of these interviews. I would say 40% of the interviewers were like Gestapo style. Horrible. Including this interviewer. Where did they get these useless and unprofessional people. Let the lady express her emotions and unveil her memory as it comes. Really a shame this testimony is interrupted with idiocy.
it's amazing how fluent, and clean, and well spoken are these people from these series, in English, better than most native speakers, ...

It happens a lot ( a bad interviewer). So tragic
Am so sorry this happened to u and many others that went through this, tears rushed down my eyes when she started crying.
Wonder if she is still with us...Thanks, for sharing story.

I totally agree with you.

well said.

This poor lady was crying and very emotional and this interviewer showed no compassion and support smh 🙄

Celo Celo this is not a very sympathetic or compassionate interviewer

The interviewer keeps having her jump topic…

The interviewer sounds like a female John Malkovich.
