I totally agree with you. It’s like everyone has lost their minds and there’s no respect for law and order anymore. Even in my youth I would never act like they do now and disrespect law enforcement. Our officers are dealing with not only crime but mentally unstable individuals. I’ve seen young people harassing elderly people in Walmart and screaming and yelling at anyone who looks at them wrong. I think the pandemic and lack of mental hospitals has made mental illness worse and worse. The internet has become a huge source of mental illness enablers and it has become normalized to an extent that never would have been tolerated in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. It’s sad to watch and I’m glad at times that I’m as old as I am because it’s only going to get worse before it gets better.

Give her a book to read and ask her at least 25 questions about the book she would read from the first page to the last and test her reading ability. Every question being asked about a book, tell her "Don't look at the book." That was probably the way I was tested on reading books in school, which was a big part of my grade.
