Your chassis and that 850 is sure gonna be a great combo for recovery work....Those rear stiff legs are very nice....We had a Holmes 850 that we mounted on a 1980 KW W900B glider kit 350 cummins with a 13 spd. Wrecker came off a 1959 GMC 5/4 trans gas job cool old municipal truck no miles little use....Truck served us well and should have kept it...We sold the KW to one of our fellow towman in Delaware and they sold it to a company in the Dakotas. This company still has it today and the old truck is parked in the garage...Used to be blue in color and now its red....The only thing I did not like about that 850 it took 2 men to pull out those cables off the main winches......Tried everything to cure it......Good luck with your build....Cant wait to see the end results.....Gonna be a beast...

diastatedave thank you. Currently we have some of the back end painted. Just have to paint the bed orange and put some type of bed liner in the bed. Than painting should be done.

Also we are getting brand new cables so maybe that might make it easier to pull. (It probably wont.) On our orange kemps rescuer (like a 1701) my dad missed a few grease spots and the cable pull super hard, but when he finally found them it pulled nice and easy. so im thinking maybe you missed some grease spots, or does it naturally pull hard?

Great piece of kit, we have run twinbooms in the uk for 40 years, still have 2, but sadly not 850s, we have 750 on a white rc2. Have just built a 4x4 Bedford off road recovery truck with a bulldog dominator, very similar to a holmes 750 with about the same capacity, but winches are all hydraulic.our white is on u tube, under my name if you are interested, looks like you have a kemp, we are trying to buy a kemp here in the uk, do you like the kemp?

Dear Tyler Kimble, wow! very , very nice! I do have a respectful question to ask you Sir. Why? would you go to all that trouble ,
to put an 850 Holmes unit, onto a 1986 AM general Army truck, with 6x6, and go to all the trouble? well done, mind you, to set
up your two hydraulic stiff legs? onto which you, attached a sort of Landing -bed, WHICH , ONLY SERVES TO DISTRIBUTE THE
WEIGHT OF THE TRUCK'S REAR-END, TO THE GROUND, FOR HEAVY PULLS !??? It seems to me, that your set up, with the rear
end only defeats the original purpose, of the two individual stiff legs, to dig -in, and grip, for difficult pulls, with the 850.????
It then , Dawned on me? Did you prepare this truck, to work in a region, where you are working on a lot of sandy, loose, ground,
erea's ?? Hense, the advantages offered, by the 6x6, and your truck body wide, landing-foot bar ? To aid , the pull, on loose
ground? Just curious! Also, There are a good number of Military rotator wreckers, available from guys who bought them,
and they are wonderful, but are just sitting around doing nothing, Available ? Which sadly is the case for most , retired Army
trucks ! And as to Holmes 750, and 850 wreckers, with old school tow bars; There are still plenty of these old beasts , on
all sorts of heavy trucks, with, or without underlifts, available , on the used market these days ????? Why go to all the trouble, \
and expense, to put an 850, on a military 6x6?? Was the all-wheel drive , capability that important??
Now do not get me wrong here? I love army trucks! But what most owners of them, and old school heavy fork lifts, as well,
is that from a commercial present day Tow companie's point of view, here is the Hard truth! The towing and recovery business
is a Hard line of work ! It is 24-7-365 ! All weather, which is usually Horrible weather ! The tow industry equipment is way too over
priced ! The staff? there are the elite drivers, and the regular guys who work the majority of the common calls ! The boss , who just financed a truck , that is about $600,000 in the states and $900, 000 dollars in CANADA, IS NOT GOING TO , TO ALLOW
JUST ANY SCREW-BALL DRIVER TO OPERATE THAT VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE TRUCK, WITH HUGE TRUCK PAYMENTS EACH
MONTH ! And further more, these men, who are elite, they refuse , to drive such equipment ! Same for the old beast Fork lifts!
They say to the boss, I am NOT DRIVING THAT PIECE OF ANTIQUE SHIT !!! These men INSIST, on the latest, air-conditioned,
sleeper equipped, with all the bells and whistles, new, modern trucks by say, Miller Industries; with all the powerfull, tools,
on it, and all the cabinets full of all the other stuff, and the work lights, and all the creature comforts, and these guys do not work cheap ! Especially on 24 hour call ! It is a Hard business ! Let me tell YOU ! And Mr Kimble, Sir, Do not get me wrong here!
Is the old girl cool? You bet it is ! Bravo ! I love it ! You, did it ? You built it up? Great! My Hat is off to you! well done!
But most probably, you will be the only guy who will work with it ! And never, ever, under-estimate, the effect on your driver,
who will , work with it, when He , goes to the local truck stop, or place where the guys congregate, for coffee , and to talk,
and they pull in on , modern all hydraulic , super comfortable units, and they tease, or critisis your driver , coming in with the
old army antique, do not tell me , that this fact does not work, with time on the minds of your staff ! The cab of an old army truck,
is not a place, where a driver wants to spend the night , while on standby! Let me tell You ! So, as much as I love these old
beasts, that is the real world today ! Sadly. Or tell me I am wrong! Best regards! kennethzakaib607@gmail.com
montreal Quebec, November 11, 2020 ! ALSO, SADLY, I AM FURIOUS, AS A PERSON, WHO HAS ALWAYS APPRECIATED,
ALL WHAT IS GOOD AND TRUE ABOUT AMERICA......SPEAKING AS A CANADIAN, AND WE HAVE AN IDIOT OF A PRIME MINISTER ,
RIGHT NOW.......I AM DISGUSTED, WITH AMERICA WHO SCREWED ALL THE TRUMP SUPPORTERS WITH ALL THE VOTER FRAUD
THAT ALL OF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, IS STILL THERE ! YOU MEAN TO TELL ME, THAT ALL THOSE PEOPLE, SHOWING UP AT TRUMP RALLIES, AND THAT IDIOT BIDEN HAS ALMOST NOBODY, AND HE WINS? THE ELECTION???? THIS IS BULLSHIT !
YOU NEED BIG REFORMS, AND BIG VOTER CERTIFICATION, AND VERIFICATION PROTOCOLS NATION WIDE !
I AM VERY PISSED OFF ! AND IF AMERICANS STAND FOR IT??? THEN YOU ALL DESERVE WHAT YOU GET !
SORRY, THAT IS HOW I SEE IT ! KMZ.

Wat? Where did all of ... well, that come from? Sweet ride. Lose the Trump BS. Seriously, it's about the AM Gen. Got one myself, an 86 too. It's not about the politics; it's about the truck.
