Up until the mid-60s (70s?), there was a pre-execution process wherein they would actually pack the rectum w/some sort of cloth. I’m pretty sure they use diapers now. I was a correctional officer in the state of Texas for 20years plus. I did also work for TDCJ. The state of Texas does not give death row inmates a last meal nor do they allow marriages while incarcerated anymore,

Actually there is an interesting reason to some convicts facing their execution ordering extreme amounts of food for their last meal. In many prisons everything left over from the last meal of people being executed is donated to guards or even to other death row inmates in some cases. So at least sometimes it isn't greed, gluttony or a last attempt to act out control on other people, but a friendly gesture, a last farewell so to say.

Actually there is an interesting reason to some convicts facing their execution ordering extreme amounts of food for their last meal. In many prisons everything left over from the last meal of people being executed is donated to guards or even to other death row inmates in some cases. So at least sometimes it isn't greed, gluttony or a last attempt to act out control on other people, but a friendly gesture, a last farewell so to say.
A lot of states have done away with it altogether or limit it to like $15.

For my last meal I’d want a steak cooked medium rare, a pepperoni pizza from my favorite pizza place, spaghetti with meatballs, barbecued ribs, and chocolate milk.
I’d also want my weirdest food combo I love- saltines with mild cheddar cheese, and Nutella. I don’t know where I got the idea from, but it’s good. Since I started having them, I know people who put Nutella on cheese pizza or eat it with Goldfish crackers so maybe it’s not too weird
I also love grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup… an Italian subs.. I’m hungry now 😅
