I just found huge Pink Princess Philodendrons at my local Kroger for $30 in GA! I had to do a do a double take. I grabbed one for me and one for my sis-in-law. I couldn't believe it! Happy shopping! ❤️
i found a mini phal. orchid there with flowers that had the center bottom petal as all three in the center!! looks almost like a three headed dragon💛 love finding unique plants in big box shops!

The second plant looks like a silver stripe to me as well. I live in Oregon and we just don't get as many of the hard to find plants where I live. I ordered mine from Cactus Club (after watching your videos 🙂). It was a 4 inch pot but has almost doubled in size in the almost 3 months since I got it. It is one of my pride and joys! Great find!

That philodendron 😍 I’ve just paid about that much for a one leaf philodendron rio cutting in the UK 😅 and it was a really good deal here! It is good to see what is available in the different parts of the world 🙂

They always have nice beautiful plants at the big box stores by you. Here in Orland park Illinois Lowes or Walmart or home Depot. They nice variety but they NEVER take care of them. They always look terrible 😭

Philodendron silver stripe and that’s such a great price! Mine is about half that size - the price was easily $60+

The other orchids you saw at Pike's were Dendrobiums. I typically don't see that many varieties in one place, so that was a great find. The Dancing lady Oncidium that you have will typically bloom once per year, when new pseudobulbs mature. They like brighter light and to be watered when they're approaching dryness. I feed mine 20-20-20 at half strength and water with tap water about every fourth watering.

I used to water mine and they would die. Then someone said to only ever spray water onto their leaves and roots. Mine have thrived ever since.

I have been loving vanilla orchids lately and you missed seeing them or talking about them at Pikes.
Oncidium "dancing lady" orchids prefer a brighter light & don't like to be too dry. Mine is under a growlight & blooms for me on e every year. (I live in Canada & my house doesn't have any bright windows)

I picked up a fuzzy petiole (to replace mine that was decimated by spider mites) and baby compacta variegata a few weeks ago at Pike's! Also found a hoya carnosa snowball at Twigs & Figs-- have you been there? Reminded me of a small PlantHouse. It wasn't far from Pike's in Ballantyne. I saw the silver stripes at Pike's but didn't get one because I have a nice pot I got at Cactus Club in December on sale for $38! Pike's has had some really nice stuff lately.

I found my first cebu blue about 3 1/2 years ago at my local grocery store. I almost didn’t get it but the tag said it was a type of pothos so I gave her a try. After almost killing her, she came back and is now thriving. It wasn’t til the last year that I realized what she was.
I have an orchid, the common one, but I got it to bloom again a year after it was blooming. I did not cut off the stem with the blooms between blooms and gave it reg water and bright bright light. However this year the stem for flowers dried up. I don’t know if I will get it to bloom again. I have a smaller one that I cut the flower stem off of and it hasn’t bloomed for 2 years. But I like the foliage so I’m ok with it.
That philo does look like a rio or silver stripe. I got cuttings of a rio for FREE from a clothing store in Flagstaff. I asked to buy the plant but the associate couldn’t sell it, but he said I can take cuttings. I now have a 6 inch pot from those cuttings cuz I propagated each node and kept chopping.
How do you grow your Brandi? I’ve killed 2 and passed a free cutting to my sister because I just can’t. I had mine 12 feet from a west window, reg water and fertilizer. Still kill ‘Em. And I want to like it sooo badly!
I live in England and the prices here are a lot cheaper, but even so very nice plants.
I went to Lowes last weekend looking for a Monstera Deliciosa, but they didn't have any. Home depot didn't either. So I ordered 1 online. It came yesterday. Maybe because we are way up in NH.
last year my lowes had a bunch of brandtianum... i took home 3, 2 to give away, and all of them didn't have roots... or they were recently rotted away... so always check their roots... i had to put them in water to root, and lost some of them... sucked... i really wanted to gift them...
and that philodendron is silver stripe... i've found them at big box stores years ago...
