It’s puzzled me for most of my life, I can’t see the attraction of bad acting, fake fighting and prearranged “winners”. I watched it as a kid when visiting my grandfather (and it was a lot less... ridiculous 50 years ago) but since I realised it was fake at 7or 8yrs old I’ve never seen the attraction. And calling someone a “world champion” in a pastime (I can’t call it a sport) where the promoter decides who the winner of every fight is laughable.

1ST ROUND TESTING HIS STRENGTH, 2ND DEVON KNOWS HIS WEAKNESS, DEVON ALL SKILL, TECHNIQUE. WINNER
Second match Devin had his whole body twisted ad his shoulder by the ref way forward. Ref squares him up a bit and he turns it right back forward so he has the leverage to in a sense push forward. Even though it was a put on show for the crowd in attendance it was intertaining

This reminds me of watching WWF when I was a kid, Super Destroyer mark 2 arm wrestled The Axe. Lord Alfred Hays cheated by using his cane when SD was losing and hooked the Axe's arm and pulled it back. That caused a big melee.
When Devon starts that smiling and nodding thing...it's over. I don't think I've ever seen him lose a match where he does that lol. It's like something tells him "You got this one Devon".
It's all about the feel. Devon knows from experience how a match will go and or how strong with technique a man has. Devon is a strong ass man and one of the most technical pullers of all time. This puffed up dude is strong but not nearly strong enough to beat Devon without crazy amount of technique...which he didn't have.

It's crazy when Devon arm wrestles these monster powerlifters who are huge, and Devon still has significantly bigger forearm size over them.
He has trained specific muscle groupings to be great at this one action. If he was tested against them in general strength, he would likely lose badly.
