- If you are trying to decide whether to cruise with Celebrity Cruises or the Norwegian Cruise Line, this is the video for you.
We look at what we believe are the strengths and weakness of both cruise lines based on our experiences of cruising with both lines on both their newer and older ships.
Both the Celebrity Cruise Line and NCL offer lots of positives, but both also have some negatives and whilst it will depend on what you want from a cruise line as to which is best for you, in this video we give you our thoughts on which is the best cruise line, Celebrity or NCL?
We take you through our experience of sailing with the lines and break it down into the most important aspects including Pre-Cruise, Check-In, Entertainment, Onboard Experience, Food & Drink, Itineraries and Value.
This is based on us cruising on ships such as the Norwegian Bliss, the Norwegian Spirit, the Norwegian Prima, Celebrity Summit and Celebrity Silhouette, amongst others.

These are 2 different categories of cruises.
NCL competes with RCCL and maybe Virgin.

I totally agree that they are aimed at different markets but the video was more about our experiences of cruising with them just a few weeks apart,

What been your favourite ship you've sailed on if you don't mind sharing? Mine is probably the Silhouette.

Hate poor comparisons like this as Celebrity competes in the premium segment. As much as NCL may want to move upwards, it is still a mass market cruise line.
If you want to compare premium experiences then do so.
Celebrity vs Princess vs Virgin vs Disney. Although Disney is unique.
If you want to compare to NCL, then a better comparison is RCI, CCL or MSC.
The only thing this video did was to show that premium cruise lines are generally better than mass market ones.
After my rant, I'd like to see NCL vs Princess. But please identify that the 2 lines serve different markets.
Hi and thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm sorry that you didn't like the premise of the video.
I completely understand your point, but it was more about our experiencing of cruising with them so close together as much as anything and also our past experiences of sailing on different ships.
Aside from food perhaps (Although we did mention we loved NCL's Indulge food hall which I hope every line looks to copy!), I think just about every point we make isn't really impacted by a line price point as we can enjoy cheaper lines as much as a premium one.
Things such as working websites, rude staff, lacking of cleaning, poor organisation, poor ship design etc are just the basics that everyone should expect to be right and NCL are struggling with them at the moment.
I hope that clarifies my aim with the video more and perhaps explains it better.

Only concern was that a head to head comparison with scorecards as you presented is more like a MLB team playing against a AAA baseball team. Celebrity is supposed to be better on every level.
They're both playing baseball but on different levels as already defined. It's why they aren't in the same league and why they charge different prices.
If the video had any indication that these were different levels of cruising or just to say this is where premium lines differ from mass market ones.
Even if your video had indicated that NCL appears to be attempting to move their product into the premium market, but still has work to do on these points.
Cruise comparison videos are hard enough since each cruise/ship/voyage/crew are unique.
I'd love to see more cruise content which is the reason for commenting in the first place. Because overall it was well done.

I fully agree with you about the difficulty in comparing any aspect of the industry for the reasons you mentioned.
I was attempting to help that by coming at it from the angle I did and by stating "There is lots that we enjoy about both cruise lines and something we don’t like, as is the case with everything in life but just which line is more suited to our way of cruising" but I guess it didn't make it quite as clear as I thought.
I will try to explain my approach to comparisons better in the future and will attempt to highlight major differences such as one been a premium line etc.

We have had some great trips with them, especially on the Bliss but I do think they have taken a wrong turn with the Prima.
What has been your favourite ship with NCL if you don't mind me asking,

@@cruisehols I absolutely love the Jewel class. Not too big, not too small. The Jade is my favorite. With the Prima.. it has some flow flaws for sure.. but a lot of pluses. Love Indulge.. Hate the size of Syd Norman's.
Hi and thanks for getting back to me. We loved the indulge as well, its such a great concept and reminded us of Hawker centres in Singapore.
I've not sailed on the Jewell class yet but have a lot of positives about them.
