Dayton indeed used to have quite a heart. It welcomed myself, my father and sister sixty-two years ago. It wasn't a perfect place, but it was collect of diverse people in one place. It could have been more than it was, but like all cities and places, people lived, and people died. And Dayton changed. Now perhaps Dayton is trying to come alive again. Perhaps downtown Dayton can be what it once was. A diverse group of people living and working together. Downtown Dayton is unique. It's limited by the streets and the highway and the railroad. Downtown used to be the safest place in Dayton. It was home to over 40,000 people. The is still much creativity and genius in Dayton. Plus caring people. And the Arcade was always the center of downtown Dayton. I'd like to see a theater come back downtown. Yes there are theaters downtown, but a theater like there used to be, with the cartoons before the feature. Oh, well we all would like to relive some of our youth, and simpler time. All cities need money to operate and to grow. I wish greed wasn't the focus people's lives. People used to have fun just being alive.

I LOVE THIS! Just one thing I'm confused about while watching... is the main rotunda only 3 floors deep now? I realllllly love the deeper design. I hope that wasn't a floor over the bottom 1¹/²-2 levels. I just think that made it feel more grand and open. Regardless if they've done their research they've no doubt come upon a great design to continue to grow from! Eagerly following this progress.
Finishing the video... looks like it is just a 3 story grand hall. Homage to the original design.
Okay I love the tank. As a aspiring performing artist myself I would love to see that space used to host well sized but still intimate performances for a live in person audience and possiblylive streamed as well. It would be a nice way to continue the Dayton's Levitts precident of live music into the fall and winter months.
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE WORK AND ENERGY YOU'VE PUT INTO THE ARCADE IF YOU'VE HELPED!

This is not the Arcade of the past, this is the Arcade of the future. The newly revitalized Arcade is not a shopping mall, a food court, nor a public square.
The Rotunda has been resurrected as an active public and private event space, managed by Culture Works Events. While community members are encouraged to visit when there is not a private event, it is important to make sure the Rotunda will be open.
Currently, the Rotunda is not open to the public. Per their website... It will never be like it was!

Shame it's not open to the public. They're probably terrified of vandalism... not to mention the economy right now... another minor set back I'd say though.
      This is MAJOR progress.
