This deserves so much more attention. I am building something similar myself for a while now and can relate how much work it must have been to design, let alone build this. Respect.

Guys like you and Sprave are the real leaders in crossbow design and development today. While “the industry” has been pursuing the bragging rights of highest speed and longest accuracy, you guys understand that the real need and desire of the average shooter is to have fun without breaking the bank.... and you also grasp that most use of these things, be it for sport or for self-defense, is at short enough range that massive speed is not only unwarranted but actually a detriment as it quickly wears out equipment.
    Thanks for building great/inspirational crossbows!

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks
I think so too. Usability is important to me. Let's have more bullets. Not so much speed. A weapon can be fast and powerful. If you spend a lot of time reloading, the zombies will eat 😁😁😀

It seems the limitation for repeating crossbows will always be the stacking, which dictates two vanes.... which limits the ability to use broadheads. Either that or the broadheads would have to be the type that are closed in flight, and expand on impact.

Not for a Modern Prod (Carbon Fiber) with a longer draw length. Also since it's a Recurve, it's more efficient.
Metal Prods on Medieval Crossbows were inefficient and had shorter draw lengths. They were great for pushing Heavy Bolts though.
