It looked like max backed up into zippy and she didn’t think he was going to stop or thought she was going to get kicked. She probably thought the only way to escape that was going backwards. Maybe tie them on opposite side of the trailers because that was a very normal reaction that zippy had to max back backing up into her.
She has to teach her horses to get used to that as those types of situations happen so often you have to prepare them I wouldn’t change a thing with how she’s doing it.
No offense but she knows what she’s doing.

So weird I have a mare named zippy who has a setting back issue as well! It can be frustrating and scary the tie blocker is a life saver!

My horse did that in the cross ties we were going to clip her bridle path and she freaked out and broke the cross tie and popped the nails out of the wall holding it up and she broke the wall
another training aid I am currently using is tying my horse to rubber!! like thin bike tires or conveyor belt or something that has a fair amount of give that if they haul back at it they feel the release but cant get away, best to try in a small area first but would highly recomend!!

where did you get your tie ring? my horse did the same thing last night, she has had that problem since I met her 🤷♀️ I wonder where they get the habit from... my thoughts are maybe a traumatic experience being tied??? I know a horse who hates being tied and is deathly scared after his owner just left him at a “patience pole” for hours..... i’m not sure what r ur thoughts?
You can get them on Amazon, it’s called a blocker tie ring, I think a lot of times it’s linked to a traumatic experience, or a horse has never learned how to react to pressure or a scary situation.
I will leave horses tied sometimes until they stand quietly :)
