Black Winged Midge

In this video, our volunteer Fabio Malaspina shows you how to tie a "Black Winged Midge" fly. This is a wet fly that you can use to target trout. You can fish this fly together with a nymph or a dry fly. Always check your local fishing regulations as to how many flies you can use.
Materials list:
Thread: Ultra Thread 140 Black and Nano Silk 18/0 black
Hook: Caddis hook size 16 - 22. In the video I used a size 18 Tiemco 2457.
Bead: 3/32” silver or size to match hook size
Wing: Pearl crystal flash
Thorax: Peacock herl
Fly tying skill set rating = Easy+
