For those who it may confuse...
When you spare the doll creature in the normal ending, it dies.
It doesn't make sense at first, but think about it.
This thing was suffering, so killing it was an act of mercy.

Actually you can do this without entering the password!
You just need to check every turn (you can heal if you need to)
then eventually, the text will change and the attacks get harder.
when the attacks get harder, you can collect shattered pieces of the mercy button.
with the last piece, you get all the attacks combined and it gets pretty hard,
but if you collected all the pieces the mercy button revormes and you can spare or flee,
if you flee this will happen, and if you spare the monster still gets killed.

Huh. That makes sense. The part about Fight or Mercy options. Fight is the normal. But the Mercy had a reason. If someone is in pain and extreme suffering, some people consider it a *mercy* to kill them. It will spare them the pain that would continue.

well, actually, you don't need to use the password to get this ending. if you keep checking you/me you can recover parts of the mercy

Certainly seems to be! Clever little blighter, haha.
For anyone curious, the password can be found in regular gameplay: it was implemented so people wouldn't get bored of going through the pacifist route over and over just to get to the final boss.
Anyway, congrats! I should've factored in that you could hide behind the hand. ;P
So your the guy that made this? This is a crazy game and your really great for making it.
I don't think it was hiding behind the hand (which seems to do as much damage as the beam on contact) so much as using mercy invincibility from other enemies to avoid damage from the beam when it sweeps over the player. Combined with hanging out near the health packs to heal up the contact damage taken, it's sustainable enough to be serviceable.
This could be prevented by:
- Making the beam damage the player regardless of mercy invincibility, or
- Making it so NOTHING provides mercy invincibility while the beam is firing
I probably could fix that oversight with some poking around, but I'm a bit coded out these days so I dunno if I'll ever get around to it. It's still plenty hard to beat even with the oversight and most people won't know to do it anyway, so I'm not too worried.

I wonder if there's anything that happens if you don't attack him at all? Since killing you isn't his main intentions, he wants you to get hurt and damaged over and over, which is why he provides health for you to keep getting hit instead of dying. Also, I guess you have to at least get hit by anything else before his blast hits you, since his blast negates invincibility frames.

I don't know why you wouldn't go for the levers straight away...
you need to be in that cracked mode for it to work i think.
You see, the "Accelerator Panel" (A.P.) will boost your longitudinal movement, which doesn't really do much if you're in the normal soul mode. However, when you are Cracked, you are basically a moving arrow, only able to stop by hitting a wall and can only move in a 90 degree axis. You also move much faster. So in regular mode, you move left faster. Big deal. In Cracked mode however, since you move as if an arrow would, you shoot yourself right into his face. Hope you understand :P.

How did you put the password?
I had a look though the code and found an easy method of changing the globalvar of Password to 1. Just enter the password and continue. Look within the encounter.lua file near the top with the green texts

Oh and question, i playe though it first since it seemed like an awesome battle, but how did you know to click C to get te password menu up? I had no idea how to change the attack state to 1 and password to 0 in order to activate that attack (to enter the passcode)

Sketchy Mane He couldn't go for the levers straight away. In the Cracked soul mode your basically like an arrow and impact a lot of damage. I also think that he couldn't attack until he actually exposed his face anyways

Hi There. What about the one attack where his laser beam follows you so you have to take damage.
What if in the battle, all of the menu buttons will drop. We can enter the password using "C" and get the act button. There's option in act, "FIGHT" is you wanna to fight, but you have to find 2 broken pieces of fight button. That's my idea. But not just these. Mercy, Item are in the act options.
