- This is Part 1 in a series of Tutorials focused on the commands of the VIEW Tab of the Ribbon in Excel 2007 and Excel 2010. These same commands and tips will work for all versions of Excel.
I demonstrate how to use the Freeze Panes Commands to Freeze either the Top Row Labels, the First Column Labels or Both.
When you want to freeze more Rows or More Labels, use the Split Bar Commands. Using Split Bars give you addition, independent Navigational Scroll Bars so that you can focus on a specific part of your worksheet.
I invite you to visit my secure online shopping website - shop.thecompanyrocks.com - to view all of the resources that I offer.

Thank you thank you thank you!!! Before finding this video about freezing, figuring this out was a pain! :P
Brilliant. For some reason I was finding I could freeze a row OR a column. But the answer was just to place the cursor in the second row down, freeze pane and bingo - it worked. Thanks for your help.
Thank you, thank you, thank you... I have been trying to figure this out for a long time. Each time I would give up within minutes, but you do a wonderful job in your video.

Hi, thanks for the video! I just have a question. Is it possible to freeze the top cell of a certain column but only for a number of rows?
For example, I want the G1 cell to remain visible for the first 500 rows, then freeze G501... and so on every 500 rows. Thanks a lot!... BTW, I use office 2007 and 2016.
Thanks Danny..Clear and helpful..
